Addendum ... about Benefiber & Constipation

Benefiber is most useful in preventing constipation and not a treatment for an immediate problem! I didn't mean to oconfuse anyonoe with my reply in an earlier post.I can see why it wouldn't be the recommendation to fix a current constipation problem ... but could be useful in preventing further constipation.

The daily recommended intake of fiber is 25 - 30 grams per day. With smaller stomachs, it's hard for us to get that amount most of the time ... that's why I take Benefiber. It's for health and to keep things moving. See THIS LINK.

Also, to prevent constipation ... get your fluids in and avoid caffeine. Since caffeine is dehydrating (dieuretic effect), it causes a loss of important fluid levels that help prevent constipation.

I've found it much more beneficial to prevent constipation ... rather than having to treat it once it's an issue. ; )

I hope this information is helpful and clears up any confusion.

Blessings and Best Wishes! Shelly

I think most people with normal size stomachs in have trouble getting in all their fiber-I know I did.  I too am a believer in trying to maintain a regular elimination schedule or however you want to say it.  When it goes either way, it's a bit harder to get re-regulated with these smaller tummies, or at least it seems so for me.

I don't know if this makes a difference or not-but I try to space out my fiber during the day to avoid "roadblocks".
