Hello everyone,

I had surgery on the 13th of August and I have lost 20 pounds but I haven't really lost any weight in the last week and a 1/2. Is that normal?? I am eating soft food now and I do really well with that and I am also getting all my liquid in, I'm just a little scared that I went through this and I am only going to lose 20 pounds. That will suck!!!!

Jen, you're totally normal and you won't stop losing here. You're having a temporary stall in your weight loss while your body is adjusting to the huge changes it has undergone.

Don't fret, the pounds will start dropping again before too long. I stalled from 2 or 3 weeks when I was at your stage. Try to relax ...  this will pass.

I think about 98 or 99% of us experienced this same thing. ; )

Blessings and Best Wishes! Shelly

The vast majority of us stalled when we went to mushies.  You will lose again- as soon as your body figures out what the heck you have done to it!  The body is very confused at this point.  It is regrouping and deciding if it is safe to let go of any fat reserves.  You have been starving it for 2+ weeks and now suddenly give it some food.  Poor body!  Hang in there, you will lose again but on your body's timetable.
I have maintained for one year at this point.  I am steady at -120 pounds.  =)

Jen - Congratulations!  You are normal!  Embrace your stall as part of the process because it probably won't be the last one.  Your body is taking a breather!

Congratulations on your smart choice to have wls!  And a hearty welcome to the Loser's Bench!

I wouldnt even realyl call it a stall.  More of the body going "Whoa WTF just happened to me?"  Your body is in the healing process for the first month to two months then it will say"Okay this is the nachine i have got, this is the food i am getting, I can work with this".  That is when the pounds will start coming off.  Just do as your doctor has set forth, get your exercise in, and you will melt away.  I promise ya that.
