Melissa, It is all going to be okay. When you get scared or nervous, repeat after me, "I CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH CHRIST WHO STRENGTHENS ME". It works for me everytime. I'm sorry Kim can't be there with you, but you know that she is there in spirit. I always tell my daughter who is many miles away that I am always with here right there on her right shoulder. She hates to fly and somehow she always feels better because she knows I am with her. I would come up and be with you but will be out of town that day. You can bet that I will see you bright and early Thursday morning though. My good friend and boss, Tammy will make sure that you have everything that you need. Just picture your Mom on one side of you and God on the other and you will be just fine. Blessings, Rita

Melissa~ being nervous is so normal, but I know that you wish your mom could be there.  I wish there was a way I could come up and be there for you as well.  I just know you're going to do great.  The other ladies have given you great advice.  Know you'll be in my thoughts and I can't wait to hear how well you're doing when you're on the other side. *hugs*

Melissa, you are taking a brave step to improve the rest of your life!  I wish had been available when I was 25!  Your life will improve in ways you never imagined!  You will have a few days that you wonder what you were thinking but those days are fleeting.  Despite the issues your Mom had this is usually a pretty uneventful surgery.  You are going to do great.

If you weren't nervous it would be weird!  Have someone post when you are safely out of surgery, please!
I have maintained for one year at this point.  I am steady at -120 pounds.  =)

Everything will be okay and it is normal to be nervous.  I was very nervous as you will remember.  I am sorry I cannot be there for surgery but I will be there tomorrow night as soon as I can leave work.  I love you and know that Eric will take good care of you until I can get there. I am so proud of you Lissa and I know this will soon be behind us and we will be melting away!!

Love ya.

You are going to do great!  I only wish I could trade places with you and do this at such a young age.  It is scary because eating it such an integral part of us and life but you are making such a great decision!  It is an adjustment but so worthwhile.

The first couple of week are the hard part and it gets better after that.  I can truly say that my life is so much better with the tiny tummy!

I'll try to come by and see you tomorrow night!  My name is also Kim - you should be able to remember that!  Ha!

Good Luck on Wednesday, and yes, what you feel is completely normal. I remember getting really excited when I got my surgery date but then slowly realization crept in and I started getting nervous. On surgery day, I was the calmest I could be! It was really strange!!

You will do great, you are in great hands and the care at WW is wonderful! Keeping good thoughts about you on Wednesday!
