I'm stupid - TMI

OK...  I think I'm eating too fast or something.

I've thrown up twice now and it makes me mad!

The first time there was no food that came up.  Just mucus and slobber.  This time it was really gross.  There can't be anything worse than blowing refried beans out your nose!

I couldn't get my netti pot out fast enough to get those beans out of my nose.  I know this is TMI...  But, I warned you in the subject line!

Now, I'm afraid to eat again.  I'm going back to liquids for a couple of days and then I will try to eat slower.  I'm going to buy some baby spoons today.

Please don't get mad at me.

Dot  I can feel your pain. The only thing to make me hurle was pork rinds. Slobber yuck I called foamies and when I actually did blow I held my nose because no tonsils and it will come out the nose. I found out that I was eating too fast. Refried beans are really dry to me so I make sure and really thin them with something. Hope your day gets better. hugs, Cindy

Slow down, but if you continue to have problems check with your doctor.  You might have a problem other than old eating habits ;)

Why would we be mad at you??  There is a steep learning curve with these new tummies.  Baby spoons were a life saver for me when I first started eating mushies.  Eating too fast is an issue I still struggle with.  Going on liquids for today is probably a good idea to let your baby tummy rest.  Go slow and really pace yourself when you eat solids again.  I heard of one lady that bought an egg timer to pace herself.
I have maintained for one year at this point.  I am steady at -120 pounds.  =)

I use my toddler spoons at home all the time and I have a set down at my Mom's house too.

Beans in the nose-that would be tough-thank God for the netti.

Dot, the band is tightened gradually and I still had trouble with the eating part (watching my parent's eat I have no doubt why).....

In fact, today I caught myself going too fast because I was ready to move on to the next thing on my to do list.  I am trying to eat when I eat-meaning I sit and consciously eat whatever it is I am eating, I think about it, I enjoy it and if I'm not enjoying it, I stop and go get something else (healthy) that will work better for me.

Yeah, sounds like you had foamies the first time from eating too fast. I did it myself a couple of times. It is a learning thing, to slow down.

Take care. One day of liquids should quiet the tummy down.

You know what Dot? I appreciate you posting kinda gross stuff because it will help me when I finally get my turn. Each post I read helps me....So beans out the nose are not exactly my favorite thing to read...but it will make me slow down to avoid it....No one can be mad at you for helping others that's for sure!
I'm sure each one who has been where you are can help you too...We all work together!!

Dot, The very same thing happened to me. Sometimes I would throw up 3x a day. And usually it was the foamies. You are either eating to fast and not chewing good or eating a bite or so too much. Sadly to say, it took me forever to figure out which it was. It does get better, I promise. You will finally figure out how to eat but it may take months. That's okay though because the weight will come off. Best of luck and I feel your pain. Hang in there, Rita

happened to me the first time i got to eat scrambled eggs and i wanted to cry because i had been wanting those eggs forever and after throwing up i was convinced that i would never eat them again. well now i eat them at least once a day sometimes twice but i eat them very slow. that is the key and to know when you are full. it is hard at first because of how we were used to eating but you will learn and get used to it!! sorry it happened to you but i think everyone does it!
