I rode my bike this morning.  I wore the helmet, closed toe shoes, long shorts, short sleeves and had a water bottle in the water bottle cage.  I was styling (as my soon to be 16 YO niece says****il I couldn't figure out how to do the gears and then rapidly peddled and went no where.  I went from my house to Regional Park but just a little ways.  I didn't see Happy Cat and her peeps but I did have fun.  The whole time I was riding I was singing Queen in my head - the above song and the Bicycle song.  It was an absolute hoot.

Anyway, I plan on trying again tomorrow a.m. unless my nephew and I go to the show.  I think we are now ready for Biker Babes to unite!!!  I never believed bicycling could be so fun but after seeing some of the posts, I am doing it also.

I love to ride a bike again like a kid...the freedom is awesome except for when ya forgot how to brake and ya hit the front brake and almost go sailing over the handle bars
being healthy has its rewards....take the challenge and just do it

Donna, I am sorry we missed connections this morning.  We were walking from about 8:30 -9:30 this morning.  I would have loved to see your cool new bike!  I am sure I would have been green with envy!

Is there a better place to ride than Regional?  There are so many walkers and joggers on the trails (not to mention the crazy daredevil squirrels that won't move out of the way!) it would make me nervous to ride there.  Suggestions anyone?  I have a bike rack.  I am mobile!

I need a bike rack so I am mobile!  I scratched the heck out of my car last time I put my bike in  the trunk!  I am also awful at getting the wheel on and off to put it in the trunk!

What kind of bike did you get?  That is one thing I want to get when I get a little more weight off!  I can't wait!  I had a bike, but someone stole it right out of my garage!  I was mad!!

Also, I hve those two songs on my iPod!  lol  I can't wait to ride my bike to them!

Good for you for getting out on your bike!

It would be fun to meet along the Oklahoma River and ride as a group.  Wide trails, fairly flat, kind of central and no cars.  There are several parking lots on either side.

I would love to ride, too.  Fess up the details on what to look for in a bike and where to get one --- cheap.
