I'm on the mend-everything looks good.  Weight stayed the same which concerned the doc a bit since I was dehydrated as heck last week, but I assured her that I've been drinking and have jus****ched the intake-so she left what saline I had in (whew) and it's on to softer solids oh joy joy joy.  Liquid tuna is ok, but I'm gonna fix me some by golly tuna salad tonight!

If you ever need to drink tuna-toss it (including the water) some of that Calorie Free Watkins salad dressing in a blender, and drink up.  If you get sick of chocolate protein drinks, it's a nice change.

I go back in about 4 weeks to see what my weight is doing and decide if we want to try adding some saline back or not.  I'm just glad I can eat again, because I'm leading the September Excercise Challenge on the Lap Band Group which means I really should exercise a bit.

So-what have we learned?  Do not try to ride out an illness, get the unfill at the first sign of trouble.  But, if it's the weekend, just go on liquids, which was what I did-any port in a storm.

Also I've had two really nasty stomach episodes since last year's banding-one flu and one food poisoning-and my band is in good position and good shape-so I really do have  a cast iron stomach.

I'm so happy to hear that you're out of the woods.  What a miserable episode!  But you weathered it with a great attitude, a smile, and some Moon-hugs!

Yay cast iron stomach.  But I'm not gonna try liquid tuna - that sounds perfectly disgusting!

You were so charming and funny during this siege with the tummy it was easy to forget you were suffering liquids.  I am so happy that you can eat again!  Yippee!

I agree that liquid tuna sounds like it ought to be banned by the Geneva Convention as cruel punishment.  Or maybe it shoudl be fed to sick marine animals???  Definitely not for human consumption!

Glad you are on the mend!
I have maintained for one year at this point.  I am steady at -120 pounds.  =)

I'm glad to hear you're on the mend~ However, I agree with the other ladies that I am staying far away from liquid tuna.

HOORAY!!! I hear the dinner bell ringing just for you! : )

Now about the liquid tuna... I just can't imagine how close to complete starvation I would have to be to even possibly consider swallowing liquified tuna.

Girl, you are right! You DO have an iron stomach!

Blessings and Best Wishes! Shelly

The real Ed the Cat loves your avatar and thought the liquid tuna sounded great.  He drinks the tuna juice I drain off.  I don't think its something I would want to try.  Glad you are doing better.  donna
