Does Anybody Else Not Know

I've thought about a dog wash-I used to be a groomer.  There are quite a few grooming salons in my area and I'd really rather find something that enhances what people are already doing rather than compete with them.

Training might be a viable option-I can do that at home and then branch out.

I think a plus sized resale shop would be a great thing to do and a lot of fun too.  I had antique booths in Dallas, and we had to work once a month on weekends as part of the deal-it was a blast.  Didn't make a whole lot of money but it was some good times.

I know what you mean!  I can retire from teaching in 5 years but then what?  I can't live on teacher retirement alone.  I will have to work but doing what???

I think a doggy wash and boutique would be good for you.  You could also offer doggy training classes and agility training.  Moon could be your star for advertising.
I have maintained for one year at this point.  I am steady at -120 pounds.  =)

Maybe I'll just open the institute for people who don't know what they want to be when they grow up.  I actually looked at something like that in Dallas-buying a duplex, living in half, renting out rooms in the other half for "studio space" for creative people who wanted a space but couldn't afford tons of rent.  But that seemed to have all the drawbacks of being a landlord, times 5 or 6....LOL.

I also thought about outfitting a van and running pet errands-taking dogs to groomers, etc.-I could advertise via the groomers and the vets, but it would have to be a downtown type of operation for the busy execs (who I wouldn't mind at all taking money from).

Deb, when you figure it out, let me know. I don't think I will ever grow up. But for now, I am satisified with working with WLS patients and hope I can make a difference in some of their lifes.

Since I consider myself a life consultant for others and can't help myself...I too don't know what I want to do when I grow up....at 56 that is scary!!
Now about you....I have thought that a needy service would be an emergency service for animals....Like a 911 for animals. If Greyce every got hurt...I can't lift her into the car to take her to the vet, cause she weighs 85lbs!!  I think it could be a great service. I can't believe I'm telling one of my brilliant ideas...but then I'm full of them and couldn't work them on my own!

Now back to me.......hmmmmmmm that will need some more thinkin!

Wow! I can relate!

Even though I'm retired, I want to do something more. But *what* is the big question. We have acres ... and fairly crummy health. And, the best way to become a millionaire with horses, or most farm animals, is to start out a billionaire! : )

Can't raise animals for food ... got too attached. Can't raise animals to sell .... got too attached. No animal breeding happening here because 30 acres fills up quickly with big animals that will stay here.

I'm thinking an online business of some type might be good.  Find a niche you want to make a difference in and that you enjoy, then go for it!

Blessings and Best Wishes! Shelly
