Fat is All Around

Our pets are having obesity problems too....even snakes. I put a picture of an obese snake (not one of mine) in the miscellaneous critters folder. I sometimes think of that image when I'm wanting to eat something I shouldn't. I know snakes are good for aversion type images, but that one just makes me sad-no arms, legs AND fat-that's tough.
(That type of snake is a full bodied snake, but the one pictured is just over the top, poor thing).

I doubt it would work very well-the snake gastrointestinal tract is pretty much like a tubular trash compactor.
Part of the problem is they are touted as "no fuss pets" but they do need to crawl around a bit or eat VERY VERY little. If you are going to feed them a lot, they need exercise.....just like we do. It's all about calories in, calories out, no matter who or what you are.
How very true! My Chelsea (yellow lab) needs to lose 15-20 lbs!! Poor thing! And to say she eats exactly the same as my two german shepherds, who are at perfect weight, and she even walks every night with me! My poor baby is on a diet! She is eating reduced calorie doggy food (Hill's Presc. diet).
I told her it happens to the best of us!! (yeah, yeah, I talk to my dogs....)
