Traveling makes me realize how ready I am for WLS

I had to go to California for the week for work and it has made me realize how ready i am for WLS. Keep in mind my co-worker that is traveling with me is probably about 105 pounds soaking wet....I got on the plane and the seatbelt would not reach. There was no way in hell I was gonna ask for an extender so I just tucked the seatbelt up under my shirt so noone could tell it wasn't hooked (good thing we didn't hit turbulance). Then I had to go to the bathroom so bad that i couldn't wait until we landed. Who in the world designed the airplane bathrooms obviously had no booty whatsoever! I barely fit in the bathroom and (TMI) using TP afterwards was almost impossible! I was soo disgusted with myself. Tomorrow we are taking the afternoon off and going to Seaworld. I am going to have to drag my big butt and try and keep up with my friend (who is great and very supportive by the way) all over San Diego tomorrow and I am exhausted just thinking about it.

So if I ever had a second thought in my brain about whether or not to go trought with it....it is gone! I am so ready...I would do it tomorrow if they would let me!

Anway...I guess I just needed to vent...thanks for listening.

I know EXACTLY what you are talking about hun.  I flew to Indianapolis in 2005 and had to ask for an extender each time since Southwest is VERY strict on checking (or at least the stewardesses I had were very strict in checking).  Then running all over downtown Indy and the MASSIVE convention center literally injured me when I pinched nerves in my left leg and got severe inflamation in my leg due to it.  I still have some of the nerve damage in the outside of my left thigh due to this.  I am actually looking forward to flying again sometime soon and NOT having to ask for an extender.

Oh I totally understand! A couple of years ago I had to go to San Francisco. One of the "fun" activities our marketing department came up with to help people get to know each other was a scavenger hunt through the wharf and areas in San Francisco. We were on a time limit so we were walking pretty fast, up and down hills. I thought I was going to die!
I am traveling right now and in an area with lots to do. I wish I weren't by myself as I would have loved to get out and walk the town!

Wow!  What a timely post to encourage me!  I've been having some "snacking" issues and was getting discouraged with myself.  But reading this post - well, you could be me!  You have just reminded me of all the reasons I want to continue to lose this weight.  I was a travel agent for 17 years and am still married to a travel agent.  So I've encountered this issue many times and all the stress that goes with it.  I feel your pain and frustration!  I remember feeling tired just thinking about the next day.  And this should be the time we're enjoying the most!

Thank you for reminding me and capturing my attention.  I will keep my eye on the prize and am glad you are doing the same.

Don't be disgusted - feel happy that you are making such a positive step.  We will get through this together!  Thank you!  Thank you!  Thank you for your honest post!

On one flight I took, they didn't have extenders, so I had to recline my seat and lie back to hook the seat belt, then sit back up. I feel your pain.

It seems we all hit a point where we just KNEW we had to do something drastic about our weight.  I so understand about the seatbelt thing.  I always found it to be the most stressful part of traveling- will I fit?
I have maintained for one year at this point.  I am steady at -120 pounds.  =)
