Well, I went to another informational seminar at WW yesterday!  Took my brother down there.  He lives a LONG ways away, but wanted to go to "your surgeon" (mine)

Looks like we both have appointments down there on Friday too.  He see's Dr. Walton at 9:30 and I see Dr. B at 11:00.

We are hoping we can get him on the path to surgery soon and hopefully a date before the end of the year!

Wish him luck!

I send a ton of luck to your brother~ That is awesome that he wanted to do it with your surgeon.  I've referred some people to my own surgeon, as well, that were interested in the RNY.

That would be really neat to have a family member on the same path.

Yeah, it is pretty cool...

My younger sister had RNY in January 2003, I had it in August 2008, my older sister is probably weeks away from getting her date for RNY (Dr. Coehen in Shawnee Mission KS), and now my brother hopes to have surgery before the end of the year!

Our mother is supportive, we are all supportive of each other, our spouses are supportive...  That's all the brothers / sisters I have...  lol

I send much good luck and happy thoughts to your brother as he starts his weight loss journey.  What fabulous support he already has in place!  He's smart too!  I made my sister go first too!

I think it is awesome all the siblings that are getting this done.  The weight issues seem to run in the family and when the others see your life changing they want part of that too.  I can't wait for my sister to join me on the bench!

Yea!!  Good luck with the journey.  And, as far as the date for your brother, you're going to have to give us more information.  Like -- height, age, marital status -- oh, not that kind of date, huh ?

Congrats Dot! Don't be too surprised if he comes to you with lots of questions, especially the awkward questions that nobody really wants to raise in group sessions. My sister had RNY 12/06 and I had it 3/08. I'm sure I drove her nuts. My Dad just had the sleeve, and my mom will have it in a few weeks. Thanksgiving and Christmas will never be the same. Thank goodness.
