I'd like to have moonie meet some livestock while he is still little.  There were sheep and goats on his breeder's farm but driving 3 hours to meet a sheep is kind of much.

Is there anyone on this list in the OKC area that would be willing to let me bring my dog out (on lead) to sniff your animals?  I thought about going down to the stockyards but I think that might be a little much for him right off the bat.

In the meantime, we are making do with the parrot.

You are the only one I know that would post something like this!  LOL!

Wish I could help you but, alas, I'm only a kitty caretaker!  I would love to meet Moon!  Good luck on your quest!

I say go for the sheep~ I raised sheep for 10 years and they are awesome.  I know you're just kidding around, but seriously, I think farm animals really do make great pets.

Oh, I've had a pet goat before-but I don't WANT a goat or a sheep, I'm looking for someone who has one.

Moon is getting kitty training courtesy of Pasht.  I'm getting better at puppy intros or Pasht is getting slower, because no blood (even mine) has been shed.  Last time I put a hand out to take a bite instead of a pup, she got her little canine hooked in my thumbnail-it was an awful thing to get unstuck, and an awful thing to heal.  Cat bites are nasty things.

Deb, there are lots of ducks and squirrels at Regional Park in Midwest City.  The squirrels are totally fearless.  They expect the walkers to go around them.  Just a thought.  You and Moon could come ealk with us next Saturday morning. Also, lots of walkers with dogs in the park.

I wonder if you contacted some of the more rural schools around here you could find out when they are doing some FFA activities.  Maybe you and Moon could go see some livestock then.
I have maintained for one year at this point.  I am steady at -120 pounds.  =)

LOL-we have plenty of squirrels-but geese have taken over the duck pond and those things scare me!

Deb, there are herding dog groups in the OKC Metro that meet to train their dogs with livestock regularly. The include Border Collies, Aussies, Corgi's, Puli's, etc. We used to attend one when we first got our Aussie, although we never actually joined. You might google herding clubs in the area and I bet you'll find lots of opportunities. Several keep a few head of sheep at their places and always welcome new people with their dogs. ; )
Blessings and Best Wishes! Shelly
