Joy, welcome! I agree, everyone here is THE greatest. Even though I haven't met anyone in person, I feel like I have known them for years. I was offered to have WLS paid for me a couple of years ago, but refused it because of my fear of it. It got to the point where I literally felt like I was about to become bedridden and then die. I couldn't walk across the bedroom without being out of breath. My pastor is the one who finally talked me into it. I found out about OH at my first support group meeting. I don't miss a day without coming in OH. I have an order to all the forums I go into. If I would have known about OH 2 years ago, I would have agreed to it back then. Good luck on your surgery. You're going to do great. Mine is the 9/15, and even though it is my first surgery ever, I feel nothing but excitement. Visit often and get involved. Michael
Welcome Joy! So glad you came in out of the lurking shadows and have become a poster. This has been my lifeline and I'm on here every day, multiple times! (probably obsessed!) These are great folks but, best of all, they have been here and done this surgery and are living proof of the success.
Don't be scared. Yes, it is a major life change. But so much for the better. You will feel better mentally and physically. You look so young to be so smart! Congratulations!
PS Who are you kissing up to in your avatar?

I wondered who she was kissing up to also! lol Welcome Joy!! I lurked in the shadows for sometime before being coaxed into posting....Everyone on here is super helpful and encouraging....and even bossy when you need that too....I am only on the warm up bench but am praying for favor on Monday from my Cardio doc. Your time will be here before you know it so feel free to ask any questions now matter what. These girls have answers and more! Congratulations on your new life and as Kim asked.....Who is in the pic??? Oh did I mention we are nosey too??? Sherrry
Welcome out of lurking Joy! That looks like David Hasselhoff in your pic... am I right? Yes, we are very supportive of one another in here and I'm glad you have decided to join us. I am 4 years post-op from my RNY and it was the best decision I ever made. I'm 8 mos pregnant right now with my 2nd post-op baby (2nd baby overall) and I'm still maintaining a 160 lb weight loss since my WLS. I look forward to getting to know you better as you transition into your new life after your RNY and also before as you prepare for the big day. *Big hugs*

That would be David Hassehoff. Hubby and I were in L.A. eating at the famous Pinks Hotdogs when he took the pic. I just think its funny. No, I don't have an undying love for the Hoff. Just his bulletproof hair.
And I understand about being addicted to bulletin boards! I'm addicted to one dedicated to a cruise that is put on every year by my favorite band.

Oh heavens!!! We need a Weight Wise cruise!!!!! I went on two with my sisters and mom.... we nearly threw each other overboard!!! Next one is with people I enjoy!!! I guess this will have to wait until I have paid off the balance of my surgery...but I can dream!! I loved the whole experience of it though....
