question for all rny'ers

hello all of you lovely people. My grandmother had rny about 20 years ago and for about the last 3 years she has had a terrible problem with belching very very very very very loud and like 100 times a day. Can anyone tell me if this is normal and maybe what causes it??? It has me puzzled.  thanks

Heya wonderful woman...  I've done some asking around in other forums that I go to, and noone could validate that much gas after a tons of time after procedure was happening to anyone in those forums.  Maybe she's just eating something that doesn't agree with her or something that is just too gassy....cucumbers? Brocolli? beans? etc..etc..  See if she can start to list her meals daily to find the culprit...

Well, I have never heard of this issue so far out, but I have an aquaintence that could go down in history for the burp thing at only 3 years out.  She finds if she eats too fast, or consumes too many carbs, she belches like there is no tomorrow.  Could it be that your g-ma is so comfy with eating now, she eats too quickly?

Thanks for all the input, but sorry to say that my grandmother is the most noncompliant person I have ever met. She did wonderful at first and lost like over 200 pounds and when she realized that her insurance wouldn't pay for the extra skin to be removed it's like she gave up. Well and living with my grandpa for so long, god rest his soul, who was the biggest  a$$hole anyone could ever meet she developed very poor habits and she is now 78 and could care less how she eats. She looks at it like because of her age that she will eat whatever she wants to eat before she dies, so oh well. Her favorite meal is mashed potatoes from popeyes and she loves crackers. Now the only thing she is awesome at is her water, she probably drinks about 1 1/2 gallon a day but she does it while she eats and everything else. I didn't think about the carbs giving her gas but it makes perfect sense. Maybe I will try to encourage her to try to do better but I doubt she will listen to me. She can't eat meat because she  just pukes it up so anywho, thanks for the advice janice and thomas. Yall are much appreciated by the big hearted southern girl.  Hugs to the both of ya.  see ya
