Well here it is gang...yes it got here soooo fast!  I am going out to buy my liquids, for the fun begins tomorrow.  I have written down many suggestions from all the replies I have received and will take my list to the store today.  Everyone keeps asking me what my "LAST" meal will be, I guess I try NOT to look at it like that for sanity sake.

For those of you that have sent me suggestions & words of encouragement I want you to know you have decreased my tension and anxiety by half.  My recliner will be delivered the early part of next week, and my last day of work will be Wednesday but I'll leave early that day.  It is hard to believe that it is really my time now...I am scared for what the future holds, just because I don't think I can understand how wonderful it will be.

~~Love to you guyz~~

You are right , dont think of it as a last meal , and hang in there with the liquids , for me the first 2 days were the hardest , well maybe the first 3 but after that not so bad , you just have to keep the goal in your mind ,  you are beginning a wonderful exciting journey !!! Good luck and take care !!

I never knew that I had already had my "last meal" when I went in for my first appointment with my surgeon!  I had no idea I would be required to lose so much weight pre-op so I didn't dare eat any "bad".

You will hate the liquid stage but think of it as doing your part to have a successful surgery.  It is very necessary to shrink the liver and help out your surgeon's visibility.

Besides, you will eat again and enjoy.  But you will think of food differently.  Thank God!!  The stranglehold is broken and I intend to never let it get me in its grips again!

Congratulations on receiving your new favorite piece of furniture!  You will wonder how you got along without it!  Yay recliners!  (although my hubby hogs ours!)

I wish I was close enough to come and see on your surgery night.  But since I'm not, please keep us all posted.  We will be looking for your progress.

Congrats on the best decision of your life.  You are gonna love the new you!

Definitely don't think of it as your "last meal" because it's not your last meal...  believe me, at 4 years out, I know that.  You're going to do great on the liquids, it won't be the most fun thing ever, but it will fly by and you'll be on the loser's bench before you know it.  You won't understand yet how wonderful things are going to be and you might not even realize it in the first month or so after your WLS, but, in the end, it really is all worth it.  The losing side is so worth everything!  I'm glad our words of encouragement have been able to help you, girl.  I know I'll be here for you if ever you just need a listening ear or want someone to talk to.  *hugs*

I've been on full liquids since Thursday and Mushies before that.  For me, it's a little less stressful on some level when you know that for now, food is not a possibility.  Now, clear liquids, that's just something (at least for me) you have to get through...but you CAN do it.

I still think the WLS was one of the best decisions I've made.

Everybody's right. You've got to break the "last supper" mindset. You WILL eat again and enjoy it. Your relationship with food will also be different.

I'm excited and happy for you as you are beginning your new journey and your new healthy life.

I don't remember what I ate right before as my surgery approval and financing date were 24 hours apart which was the day before surgery, so I did the 24 hours of  clear liquids then went right into surgery.

I do, however, remember what I ate prior to starting the pre-surgery diet. I ate everything unhealthy and full of grease and got it all out of  my system. I haven't had any food of that nature for a year now because it took me from June-Oct to lose the 30 pounds prior to surgery.

Forgive my ignorance by what is the significance of the recliner and why do so many talk about loosing weight before the surgery?

And lots of luck on your surgery! The liquid diet will be over before you know it.
