Oklahoma State Fair

Guys-we are a busy bunch-the walk (the vet has cleared me to go--woot wooo) is coming up, and I'm going to a clinic the Saturday before that in Stillwater for begining dog show people.  It's an overview of different types of showing, agility, conformation, etc. put on by AKC (and it's free for anyone who is interested).  They are also doing canine good citizen testing, etc. I'll take Moonie (and Oliver if they let in miscellaneous scruffie dogs).....

BUT-are we going to try and do a fair get together?  I'd really like a bite of some things I've never tried, but only one bite.  If we go in a group-we can each have a bite of something....LOL.

Deb, I am not sure I am tough enough to smell cinnamon rolls and not have one.  The bread sticks that my son had from Fazzoli's about killed me.  Bread was one of my major food groups pre-op.  I need a 12 step program I guess.  My name is Denise and I am a breadaholic.

Hopefully you will get some takers.
I have maintained for one year at this point.  I am steady at -120 pounds.  =)

True story-on the path from my parking garage to my office was one of the best known, best love bakeries in Dallas.  When I was on a 5 month medically supervised fast, I used to have to walk by that place every single morning while they were baking cakes and cinnamon rolls.  I actually learned to enjoy just the smell.  Now I can go to subway and sniff the bread and eat a salad.  It can be done!

I think the fair is a great idea. I can fit in all the rides again finally! I'd like to do another wild west photo.  A lot of the fair fun for us is looking at the cars, farm exhibits, animals, etc. We don't do the midway much of the time.

I'm up for anything- I live right near the fairgrounds so I'll make several trips most likely to see the things I am really interested in in depth.  Most people cannot hang around farm animals the length of time I can....LOL.  Some days I won't even actually go in to the fairgrounds, I just want to work the dogs in the crowds in the parking lot.

That sounds like a good idea! I have not been to a fair for a while - two reasons: I couldn't walk the fair grounds, and I was afraid I would over do-it with the wonderful foods available there!. Now I know I can walk it, and I know I am not afraid of the food. Even if I have a bite of something, that is it, just a bite and I am not afraid to over-do-it!!

What days times work for people?  I've got to be out there some mornings for dog events, but I always thought mid week evenings was better crowdwise.
