I am 3 months post-op today- long
Remember, as many have said before, our surgery is on our tummy, not our mind. That being said, there will be good days and bad days, but as time goes on, those bad days get less and less. You already have such a great attitude that you will be ooooooooozing that self confidence with every step in no time at all!!!

Denise-you are not alone in the relationship confusion. Here's the situation as I see it (remember I suck at relationships but I do observe people who have healthy ones...LOL).
In our demographic, women outnumber the men, and many women are out there "competing for men" which is a complete joke to me. It was fun when I was 16 and hormones were racing-well, the hormones still race but it's no longer fun.
Most of the really decent guys (at least at first glance) want a 24/7 thing and I can't hang with that. I can handle the exclusive sexual relationship clause, but I don't want someone following me around 24 hours a day asking me what I'm doing. My things I want to do list include a lot of alone things-a spiritual retreat at Essalan, swim with the GW Shark and heaven forbid anyone even look at me when I'm writing!
And then there is the animal thing-there are people of both sexes who I admire with regard to handling ability, husbandry knowledge, etc, but someone telling me what to do with my critters because he's a man and thinks he knows what he's talking about-uh uh.
After paving the way for women in business and all kinds of great things-I think our generation is now going to have to work on redefining relationships. I do know several people who have what I consider partnerships and it works for them, so I think there is hope.
I've always said if I ever remarried-he would have to live across the street....LOL.

I am so happy for you. It sounds like you have gone through a LOT of changes in the last 3 months - positive changes. And you've kept a happy, upbea attitude. You have a lot to be proud of!
