Save the Date-October 4-Puggerfest

I'm going to a volunteer committee meeting tomorrow-but the Small Dog Rescue is putting on their annual Puggerfest on October 4....(Most likely at Stars and Stripes Park where it's been in the past).

I'm going to get the info tomorrow, but would anyone be interested in helping man or woman an Okie Weight Loss Forum table?  I'll donate the sponsorship fee-but would need help decorating etc. and the theme could be the health benefits of walking your dog.  I'm sure the local clinics would provide brochures, etc, but I'd need at least one other person to sit and visit with at the booth (lol).

I know some of you are affiliated with a particular clinic-and if you want to sponsor your own, clinic specific booth-I'll get the information and pass it on to you.  The more the merrier.

The purpose of Puggerfest is to raise money for animal rescue-but it's a fairly inexpensive way for the clinics or anyone else to get information out to the local public by sponsoring a booth.  I believe they also have vending booths available-anyhow, I'll know more tomorrow.

Deb, after I hear from my Cardio Dr. and I know more about my someday surgery...I could maybe work a morning shift. I'm not much of an example of weight loss but I would love to help if it will work out.  Pencil me in for a good maybe ok?   Sherry

Sounds great-if you like dogs, and you think that walking your dog is good exercise, that's really all the criteria that needs to be met for this idea....LOL.

I just wanted to do a booth that would add to the event without selling anything.  The more booths (tables) the more people will just stop in, so I'm doing my part for the pugs AND for public education.  Greta is a puggish mix, so she can be our spokespug....LOL.

If we HAVE to fund raise, I'm just gonna make a couple of cut outs of people walking pugs with holes for faces and sell pictures for a donation.

The charity is not just for pugs (it started out that way) but for all small dogs and probably just dog rescue in general.  It's how I've decided to give back vs. bringing in another creature right now.

I am a terrible rescuer, because I can't let them go once they get here, but this way I can still help.

Greyce(My Sheppard) is a little larger than a pug, but she loves to walk. That is the only way for me to keep her in shape and myself!  We are the same age now! She is 8 and I am 56. Actually, though my daughter gave her to me, I feel like I rescued her from their family of 4 children and a mean male dog.  Greyce was having to nearly live in a crate because the male dog would not leave her alone and her back leg could not heal from an injury. Since she came here, she never sees her crate and her leg is healed. She is 8 and now she is my 4th daughter!

That's not sick, that's priorities!  I'll have the festival times tomorrow and any other info we need (like table sizes, etc).  Some place are really specific about stuff like that-I don't get the impression this group is.

I'll also get permission from OH to use the OH Oklahoma Weight Loss Forum as the sponsor title.  That would be the best because it explains how we all came together-but if they say no we'll come up with something Obnoxious (and not give OH any publicity).....can you feel them trembling with FEAR......LOL.
