I was wondering what all everyone took with them to the center, for your stay, when you had your surgery????  Did you take the normal sleeping garmets and toiletries or what?

Definitely take jammies.  You'll want to change in to them after surgery instead of that icky hospital gown!  I brought a book I never read, a magazine I never read, a toothbrush I never used - I guess I'm trying to say that you don't need much.  They'll give you sockies to wear (with grippers on the bottom).  I did bring my own pillow and some people bring their own blankies but I didn't.

Depending on where you're traveling from, you might use your toothbrush!  Ha!  I live only 2 miles from WeightWise so I decided to go home to shower, etc.

Please let me know if you have any questions.  I'm happy to help in any way I can!

Some form of lip balm is a MUST.....you will thank me later, trust me.  I also brought my cell phone and charger.  The tv in the room kept me plenty occupied since I dont have cable at home.  I found tons of stuff to watcdh LOL.

I brought a big red heart shaped pillow that my husband gave me for Valentine's Day !! My surgery was Feb. 18. - But, actually, of all the stuff I brought, the only thing I used was toiletries; I did take a shower there, so those were useful.

You will only need your jammies (loose at the waist is best), all your meds in a ziploc for the nursing staff to chart, and your pillow.  If you live very far away you might want toothpaste and stuff.  I just showered at home.  You won't need a book or anything to entertain yourself- you will be loopy on the drugs and sleepy.

When is your surgery?  What kind are you getting?

I have maintained for one year at this point.  I am steady at -120 pounds.  =)

This was a great topic!  I have been wondering that myself.  Do you just stay one night?  I know we will cover that in pre-op appointment but I want to know NOW, NOW, NOW!!!  It's crazy how impatient you get the closer the date gets!

You usually stay 2 to 3 days, depending on the type of surgery you have. I have been told that you should take Pajamas. Loose fitting is best they say. I have had other tell me you can take your cell phone too.  I am gonna take the usual toiletries, pajamas, cell phone, puzzle books to stay busy and a change of clothes to wear home.
