Attention Tulsa peeps - from the OKC peeps! Walk From Obesity-Sept 27
You can sign up for the walk at www.walkforobesity.com and I think it says something like "Join a Walk". The walk is at Rever West Festival Park at 2100 South Jackson Ave. It is on Sept. 27 and we have to be there by 8:30 and the walk starts at 9:00. The registration fee is $25 and includes a t-shirt.
We are going to carpool and go on Friday, late afternoon. I just thought it would be fun to stay in like a couple of 2-bedroom units somewhere so we could "slumber party" it! I think we're up to about 12 gals going now! Should be a blast!
My email is [email protected] if you need it!
I'm thrilled you're going with us!

I was working in Tulsa this week, and checked out the site for the walk. It is near downtown and just across the river at the 21st street bridge and a little north (on the west side of the river). The closest hotel is the Double Tree Downtown (not Warren Place). The walk site is not close to 71st street and the Woodland Hills mall, but there is a great hotel on 71st east of highway 169 it is new and is a Homewood Suites which would be conducive for groups because you can get rooms with two beds and a pull out sofa, I also think they have adjoining rooms. The Homewood Suites hotel is located on Garnett Street near 71st, is clsoe to the mall, and is very easy to navigate to the Creek Turnpike in order to get back to Riverside for the walk. The Double Tree Downtown on 7th St. may be a bit high priced. There is also a big Renassiance Convention Center hotel on 169 and 71st. There are tons of places to eat on 71st near both these hotels; my favorite is Bone Fish Grille - fab fish so I can recommend this great place. Also there are some good places on the river, Camille's, and a Mexican place I cannot remember the name of. Near downtown there are several places for dinner along Cherry Street, a great Italian place with wonderful salads, another Camille's, a Jason's Deli, an Irish pub place also. Then there is Utica Square where there is a PF Chang's and a McGills steakhouse, both very good.
I am going to be working in Tulsa that week anyway, so I am staying over on Friday to attend the walk and the get together on Friday evening but would really like to meet up with the OKC group for the walk! Hope my information has been helpful! THANKS, everybody!

Suzy,
Hope you are still coming to meet us and you saw that Sherri got a "room" for us at Mimi's on Friday night at 6:30PM.
I'm going to check in to that Homewood because we're having troubles with the bedding at Homewood.
Thank you for all of your great info! I truly appreciate. I've also eaten at Bone Fish Grille and it is fabulous!
See you soon!

The Downtown Doubletree is pricing at $99 a night. The Candlewood is $85 a night for a studio w/ 1 queen bed or $102 a night for a 1 bedroom w/ 1 queen bed and a pullout sofa.
Whatever you guys decide to do, think about heading over to the Full Moon Cafe on 15th street for the dueling piano show. It is SOOOOO much fun and they have decent food there too. Here is a video of Tom singing Old McDonald's Dysfunctional Farm. Its quite funn y and probably not safe for work or kiddos.
