What supplements are you using?/

Ok, went to the nut today and was given the list of supplements, went to the market place and dropped a fortune for calcium, and iron.  They were out of B12.  And what is with the "lozenges", don't they know they should be like a cough drop not a hunk of chalk???  Don't get me wrong, I LOVE WW and the marketplace is very handy, but I'm a cheapskate at heart.  Does anyone take supplements purchased elsewhere that are a little more budget friendly?   Yes, I know about the coupon, but when you leave it at home 2.5 hours away it doesn't work very well.  I think that Dr. B might haven taken 85% of my short term memory along with that bug 'ol tummy!!

Since you are a sleeve, you should not have to take extra iron, unless you have iron issues. I use centrum chewable with iron. I also bought my sublingual B12 at Walmart. For calcium I tried the powder from Adkins and it was AWFUL. Denise gave me WW cinammon ones to try. They were better than the powder but very gritty. When I needed more I bought the cherry lozenges. They are not gritty, but I don't like the tartness. I have heard good and bad about the chocolate. The calcium is the worst part!

Nancy,

How do the centrum chewable taste?  Even though I'm RNY, I was told that I didn't need the extra iron because I'm post menopausal (surgical meno).

I agree the calcium is the worst.  At the store, they have a sample box with different flavors of each to try.  That is what I tried so I could try different flavors.  Really, I didn't like ANY of the calcium flavors!
I can't wait until those chews come out!

I find the centrum chewables tolerable. Some people don't like them, but I don't think they are all that bad. There has got to be a better way to make that calcium!

I was lucky enough to get some chewable calcium citrate before they discontinued it, so until I run out of that I can't help you.  But on the multi with iron, CVS has a chewable that has the required amount of iron in it.  It's cheaper than the centrum, comparable, and I think even tastes better.  CVS also has the sublinqual B-12.  Other than that, I take a fish oil capsule every day -- it's supposed to be good for your heart and skin, and a stool softener -- and no comments from the peanut gallery on that one.

I also take the Centrum chewable, a B-12 from Akins and I'm a lawbreaker and using the Citrical Calcium petites in pill form.  I couldn't take any of those chewable calciums.  Gag a maggot!  The B-12 actually tastes pretty good.  The Centrum is tolerable but won't be winning any prizes.  Sometimes, in the evening, I'll take a Flintstones complete chewable as my second multi of the day if I can't face another Centrum.
