Update on DH

Well, the blood work came back. He has to have high cholesterol meds, his liver enzymes are up and he's pre-diabetic. He has pre-cancerous cells in his jaw, and his pneumonia is not getting better.

They put him on 4 different meds. If it doesn't get better on those, they're going to hospitalize him on Friday, his birthday. He's coughing so hard he's pulled a muscle in his stomach. He can't breathe when he coughs and gets dizzy, so they're thinking the childhood asthma  might be trying to come back. They also want him to lose 30 pounds pronto.

I think he would benefit from the surgery to reverse all of this crap, but I can't make the decision for him, and he's definitely not interested.

I reminded him I had mine to extend my life so we can enjoy the second half our lives together. Sigh..he turns 49 on Friday...and he's falling apart.

I hope his meds do the trick for him.

Charlotte - I'm so sorry to hear that he's not feeling well.  What a terrible birthday gift - a trip to the hospital.  Wow!  He really knows how to party!

Here's hoping he feels better very soon!

Charlotte, here's hoping that DH is feeling better (and SOON).  I understand about the WLS too.  My DH needs to lose about 70#.  He is interested, but the funding just isn't there right now.  I wish Dr. W would do a 2-fer for spouses.    Anyway, we'll keep him in our prayers.

Charolotte I can only imagine how frusterating it is for you since you see how WLS has changed your life and you are wishing he would consider it to save his life.  Darn it, why can't we just control our spouses and make them do what we want them to do?! LOL!  Serioulsy though, I am praying that the meds work and that there will not have to be a trip to the hospital.  Hang in there. -Amy

Charlotte, I was wondering where you had been since you hadn't posted lately.  I'm sorry to hear about all his problems and the pneumonia.  I'll remember him in my prayers. 

Man, it sounds like he may be headed to the hospital for his birthday! I sure pray not! I know it is consuming your mind too. Please, remember to take care of yourself during all this time of caring for him.  I am praying for both of you!! Let us know how things are going.   Sherry

I'm so sorry you're going through such a trying time.  My thoughts are with you.
