Same size as my sis, but I weigh more
Question is this: How can I outweigh her by 35 pounds and be the same size? It's so fun not to be the fat little sister anymore and dwarf my big sis by standing next to her! My bone structure is slightly larger than hers, I think. She has dainty hands, and I think I have my dad's. The women in his family are bigger boned than the women in mom's.
Ideas anyone??
Charlotte,
One of the things I've been reading and discussing with my PCP is that when we're heavy for so many years, sometimes our bones will become more dense to be able to support our body mass. Then, when we lose weight, we still have increased bone density, which adds pounds, but doesn't affect body shape/size. Was your sister ever heavy or has she always been the same dainty size 8 that you both are now? That might be an answer....
The reason I've been discussing with my PCP is that he thinks it might not be realistic for me to use the "ideal" weights from a standard BMI chart because I might never be able to get there after being obese for almost 30 years.
Hope all is going better with your husband! I'll keep you in my prayers.

The difference is she has a small frame. She also has a very dainty wrist. As a teenager, she usually weighed in at 105 to 110 as a normal weight , where my normal was more of a 130. I am only an inch taller than she is. My wrists look like a mans! lol She carries her weight different too. I don't understand it all either but I know that once I get my surgery.....She will follow soon after. She doesn't know that either but knowing her the way I do....She will be following me soon.
