What's truly odd, is that I do find myself completely uninterested in food, but I do have cravings.  I still crave "hot sauce" all of the time.  And although the "old me" NEVER wanted salad, i do find myself eating salad 2 times per day with a great balsalmic vinegrette.  The old me would have scoffed at the "new me" since i don't consume 2 racks of ribs when dining at a BBQ place.

The old me enjoyed my 36 ounce porterhouse mesquite steak while the new me is so happy that I'll never eat that quantity ever again in my life.

I'm so happy Kim posted about this since I was starting to feel like I was the only one.

Big love,

T.

I haven't eaten any salad since surgery.  I know that's weird but I focus on protein and don't "waste" tummy space on salad.  Maybe I should re-think that idea.  I love baby spinach and romaine!

2 racks of ribs, huh?  Animal!!!

I just started back on salad the last couple of weeks.  I couldn't eat it at first at all.  I've enjoyed having it but I don't do a lot of it at one time since I get the protein in first.

This is the ride of my life.....what an amazing tool I now have!!!

Yep yep yep!  Still, as far out as I am, I still have the "ot so much" days where I can barely get my fluids in, much less any food.  It amazes me that after a day or two of this, when I do eat, I have some restriction in my pouch that I have not felt in a while.  On the other hand, I have days where I feel as if I can eat a small colony of chocolate coated midgets...go figure.

I crave Baker Bros. salad from Dallas-they chop their salads and I can eat it a little better....but lettuce is one of those dicey things for me.

I still love a good rib (Jakes, Chickashaw) but now one makes me just as happy as a plateful and I order the sides to bring home to the dogs....or if I'm feeling frisky I bust out and order onion rings and eat one. (but then I feel guilty cause I could have brought home some green beans for the dogs)

My family has Jakes down to a science-Mom orders the fish and baked potato and gives me a bite of the potato.  I eat my rib and maybe my onion ring.  I give Daddy the leftover ribs to take home to heat up and he gives ME the bones to take home to the dogs.  Daddy will give me an onion ring if I want to order two dog sides, he's nice that way...LOL.

My brother-in-law in Floriday owns a restaurant and they do the chopped salad thing.  It is yummy!

I think it's funny your dogs like side orders from a rib joint.  Green beans?  That's good!  They must be healthy little doggies!  How is Moon?

Well, the green beans "Mom" makes don't have bacon in them-the take out green beans do.

I'm over the moon with Moon.  All dogs can be trained but Border Collies are just the bomb-just what I need for my own self confidence.  With all the rescues/special needs in my house, it's really relaxing to have a dog that isn't soft and likes to learn.  When Moonie finishes his shots, he'll be unleashed upon an unsuspecting world.

I crave Johnnie's salad, but I make a mean salad with baby spinach, grilled chicken, boiled eggs, mushrooms, etc. It's my fave food. I overload it with protein items and have more toppings than spinach, but the spinach provides iron, too.

I too have days when I can eat more. Some days less. I don't forget to eat very often, but I still do sometimes. Salad is a great friend when we go out to eat because I'm so afraid of fats in the meat. I've successfully managed 1 month without throwing up on fat, so that's an accomplishment!
