How many calories are y'all eating a day on average?

I'm just curious.  I track my food on thedailyplate and noticed I have recently gone over 500 calories a day.  So, I starting wondering how many calories others are at.  I'm curious, no matter what surgery you had, and no matter how many weeks post op you are....how many calories are you consuming?  Thanks in advance! -Amy

Amy, I am not sure.  There is a school of thought out there that you need at least 800 calories a day to keep your body from thinking it is starving to death.  I guess I should track.  I just haven't tracked since I am not eating things I shouldn't and don't eat until I am miserable.  I am using my tummy as a guide.  Now, when I hit the next big ugly stall I may go back to tracking and shoot for a target on protein and calories.

And I am doing the same thing as well, using my tummy as a guide....eating protein first for meals and only adding a bite of veggie or fruit every other day just to add fiber.   Also eating only until I am full and not miserable.  But....I guess I am a numbers person and just like to see where everyone is at.

I am at anywhere from about 950-1300, depending on the day.  I do track my food intake closely and I won't go under 950 calories a day ever.  However... earlier out, I was taking in more of the 750-850 a day... working my way up to where I am now.

Holy Cow!!  You had surgery in 2004 and still can only eat about 950 to 1300 a day?!!!  Wow!  This is such a mind shift isn't it!!  I rememer trying so hard to stay at 1500 just to do a major diet and then to think that we will not even eat that much once we lose the weight.  This is awesome!!  Of course, I realize it still depends on our choices and all but if we stick to the protien first thing it should make things easier.

I just used the daily plate this weekend because I was curious about the same thing.  On Saturday I had about 932 calories and on Sunday probably only about 600.  (I didn't track everything late in the day.)  I was just curious how many grams of protein I was getting in even though WW says you don't have to count them.

I do think too few calories can be bad and it seems that mixing it up and eating a different number of calories each day is a good ide
a.

But then what the heck do I know?  It's kind of trial and error for each of us because we're all so different.  I'm not a real fast loser but I'm happy with how I'm doing.  I can only pray I keep losing for a long while!

Are you coming to the meet and greet tomorrow night?

I know I have seen several like Harris2 talk about losing more weight when they could finally eat more so it makes me wonder when you are a few months out how many calories on average are we getting in.  I also was interested in my protien which is one reason I track.

I can't go tomorrow night because of my dang masters class.  Argh.  I'm doing homework...or supposed to be doing homework right now to get ready for it.  You know somethings never change.  I procrastinated homework when I was in highschool and here I am many many years later still doing the same thing! LOL!

I usually stay between 600 and 800.  What I really shoot for is the grams of protien.  I try to get in at least 50.  I also exercise just about every day, burning around 350 to 450 calories.  I, too, eat meat first or protien bar, then a little veggie or fruit.

50 grams of protien is kind of my magic number too!  I need to up the exercise though, you are doing great at that!
