Question about Multi-Vitamin
I also had surgery on the 13th and Dr. Broussard was my surgeon. How are you feeling?? I feel good, not sore really anymore and haven't taken any pain pills since I left the hospital Thursday morning. How is the liquid diet after surgery going for you?? I have not felt physical hunger at all but the mental part is a little tougher. Have you lost any weight yet?? I'm down 7.5 pounds which is mind blowing to me.
Hey how neat that we were both under Dr. B's knife on the same day! lol He told me I could go home Thursday but since I live so far away I decided to stay an extra day.
I don't know why, but it seems harder for me to get my liquids down at home than it was there? I don't know why???
I took some chewable tylenol last night before I went to bed and probably will again tonight just so I can get good sleep.
I know exactly what you mean about the head hunger! It is CRAZY! It seems like I crave everything I see on TV, in magazines, my family eating, whatever food places we drive by etc!!!
I haven't even weighed myself yet... I don't know when I will but I'm not in a big hurry to do it yet.
Keep in touch!

I couldn't handle the chewable vitamins so I take one flinstone gummy a day and one multi viatmin with iron (walgreens brand pill). I don't have any trouble swallowing the pill and Dr. B. said it was fine. If our bodies can break down our regular meds then why can it not break down a multi vitamin? At least that was my thought. Dr. B. said I could do it so I am. I just take the gummy viatmin...just in case I'm wrong! LOL!!

Please be advised that Flinstones with iron will in no way provide the amount of nutrients/vitamins that you need post op, that is an absolute joke! You need to be taking good and reliable sources of vitamins as directed by your physician. You should be taking good quality multivitamins, iron, calcium, sources of B vitamins and vit C. You should not take calcium and iron together as they fight for absorption. If you would like to know my regimen that is producing results at 18 months post op I will be glad to share them with you.

I bought the whole line of Bariatric Advantage chewable supplements. They said for right now, all I need to take is two multi's a day. After my 2 week check-up I think they will tell me to start on my Calcium, B12, and iron (iron has vit. C in it as well).
I actually started taking these vitamins a couple of weeks before my surgery and I was taking the multi with breakfast, the calcium during my morning break at work (around 10ish) and then the iron during my lunch break (1:00) and the B12 at my afternoon break (3:00). I wasn't taking a second multi, but I guess i will from now on probably after dinner.
Thanks for the help!

Be advised, I started with the Bariatric Advantage iron chewables and they did not work for me, not all vitamins work for everyone you may have to switch brands if your levels are not good on labs, it took me on the 3rd try to get it right and then it was 2 of those a day. I am getting ready to do PTH and Vit D that Jupiter and Andrea suggested and then see how those turn out and see if I need to do a dexascan also.
Glad you are doing so well.
