The Glad Game (thanks Okiechic)

For some reason that phrase in one of Okiechic's posts inspired me!

I am glad because:
1) I can now do my own lawnwork. I wasn't physically able prior to surgery
2) I can buy pants in the regular size departments!  I would have to go back to early 1979 for the last time I could do that!
3) I feel better
4) I have more energy
5) I don't feel like whining like a baby when the alarm goes off- relates to #4
6) I am pretty sure I have a good chance to be alive to see some grandchildren be born and raised.
7) maybe I won't have to have more spine surgeries!!!
8) heck, I can pack a lunch for a week in a 2 cup plastic container!
9) I don't really care what I eat, just need food for fuel (what a novel concept- food as fuel!)
10) I almost never have to go to the grocery store

What things make you guys glad?

Denise

Lawn work is easier.  Biking is easier.  With increased activity, sleeping is easier.  I'm less stressed and more confident.  Yay!

I am glad because I have my daughter thanks to my RNY... I will soon have my son...  I have lost 163 lbs.  I have energy (when not pregnant)... I am not embarrassed to wear a swimsuit...  I love to shop... I love to play sports with my husband.

I'm glad that I had a sister to hold my hand through this exciting journey.  (yes, you, HappyCat!)  I might not have had the courage to do this without you.

I'm glad to be part of this bunch of people and to have made some really good friends in the process.

I'm glad I have a free place to stay in the Virgin Islands. LOL!

I'm glad I'm back in control of my life and not a plate of nachos!!!

I am glad because:

1)  God has been so good to me and I am was blessed with a second chance at life on April 19th 1995, even though there were some dark years following.

2) I have a boss who is a mentor to me and had WLS over 25 years ago and has inspired and motivated me to follow my dream and have my WLS.  I also have a co-worker who had the sleeve a few months ahead of me and encourages me.

3) Lynette and Denise gave me clothes!!!

4)  I can technically now shop in a department store plus size dept and even bought some capris at Walmart!!!!!!!!!

5)  I got rid of my seatbelt extender in my car.

6) I am getting TONS of compliments!

7) I have still not thrown up once (hoping I don't jinx myself here)

8)  I have so much energy now!

9)  My sister is going to get to join us soon!

10) Tomorrow I am going to find out how much I have lost total!

1. I am so GLAD that my mother who has critized me all my life has come through and given me $10,000, to get this surgery....With no insurance now. All is out of pocket and the balance will come in soon, I just know!
2. I'm so glad that she will never be able to say a word about my weight again!! (I actually heard that she is making comments to my sister in AR. this week Bless her heart.)
3. I am glad that I found this Board and all the new friends, when I thought my soon to be EX had made sure I had none.
4. I am glad my daughters are now behind me on this surgery....They aren't much support  but they don't have much time with all their kids. I'm ok with that. I can do it on my own, if they are just understanding of the why's.
5. I am so glad that I have a great PCP. She is a one in a million! She arranged for me to get a stress test with my cardio Dr. for free!!!
6. I am so glad that I am going to be a new person with a new lease on life!!
7. I am so glad that soon I will be able to get through a day without being exhausted and can go back to work!!
8. I am so so, so, GLAD, that I live in a time in life where this surgery is available to me so that I can save my life and watch my  11 grandchildren grow up.
I am truely GLAD to be so blessed!!
