I'm getting really dicouraged, I know 5 pounds don't seem like a lot of weight to most people but to me it seems like a never ending battle.  I have 5 pounds left until I reach my goal weight and I weight in on August 21st, I want to loose a total of 20 pounds so I have a little bit of a barrier but I cant seem to make these 5 work let alone an extra 5 on top of that..
Does anyone have any advise to help me out, I was told to cut out my carbs and for the most part they are gone, I have been drinking ensure for breakfast and doing protein bars for a meal replacement or a snack I drink 64 plus ounces of water a day and I have hit this ugly wall and I really want to be able to go in on August 21st and come out telling even one that surgery is scheduled.  HELP what can or should I do!!! Any advice!

Did Jess give you a specific pre-op diet to follow? If not call or email her and ask for one. there is no way you won't lose it if you follow her plans. I was amazed at how easy it was to follow, and it worked. I had 14 to lose before surgery and following her plan had lost 24 by the day of surgery. Hang in there, you WILL make it!

HAVE YOU BEEN DOING ANY KIND OF EXCERSING? WHEN I HAD TO LOSE 33LBS BEFORE SURGERY I DRANK PROTEIN SHAKES FOR BREAKFAST AND LUNCH AND THEN ATE LIKE LEAN CUISINE FOR DINNER BUT I ALSO EXERCISED EVERY DAY TIL SURGERY. I LOST A TOTAL OF 40LBS BY DAY OF SURGERY. YOU CAN DO THIS BUT YOU HAVE TO WORK FOR IT! GOOD LUCK!

I would first advise you to up your water past 64 ounces.  It really does flush your system.

I ate a lot of low fat cottage cheese, tuna salad and chicken salad on the pre-op diet.  And for snacks, I ate fruit but not in the evening.

You will lose the weight but it is hard!

Good luck, girlie!  It is so worth it!

I would cut out the protein bars and replace them with a scrambled egg,  a salad with chicken in it or roll up turkey around cheese with lettuce wrapped around it or do canned tuna with lettuce salad.  The reason I say dump the protein bars is that they do contain carbs and sugars. I know it's not alot but pure protein with a complex carb like a veggie would be a better choice right now.  Cheese sticks or turkey pepparoni is a better choice of a snack....or even more chicken or turkey meat.
One thing....don't panic. I have seen many on here go through this same thing just before their surgery and I have yet so hear of one canceled. You can do this. Hang in there!!

My only thought- isn't Ensure loaded with calories?  It is meant as a supplement to a diet lacking in calories and nutrients.  That may be part of the problem.  I ate Pure Protein bars for breakfast on my pre-op diet.  They have 20 grams of protein and held me until lunch.

You will lose it!  You are going to be OK!

I have maintained for one year at this point.  I am steady at -120 pounds.  =)
