OT--WHAT THE H@$$- its a woman thing

Ok I have a child, and in preperations for surgery and knowing that I shouldnt get pregnant for a while, I had and IUD last Aug/Sept. 

IT FELL OUT

Is that possible, what the hell just happened here.  Sunday I was in the showering washing and the thing just fell out.  I am completely freaking out right now,

OMGosh!  I would be calling the OBGYN because I have never heard of that one happening before.  That would have me freaking out too, girl.  Keep us posted on what the doc says! *hugs*

I got mine 3 years ago and have had no problems, but my mil said that she got hers and then several months later found out she was pregnant with my bil and had no idea whatever happened to hers. I was so freaked out for a long time!

I am not trying to freak you out any more than you already are but I wanted you to know that it does happen.

You should definately get in to see your OB/GYN ASAP and make sure you are protected in the meantime.

OMG you're asking for MY help?  wow...ummm...yeah....ok..ahhhh..sure....   Well from a guy's perspective....I say just put it back in...and stuff....or um....take it to a good mechanic....yeah, yeah, that's the ticket... maybe Sears makes like a special wrench and stuff....  I would offer to take a look under the hood but hey I'm in the islands...

let me know if any of those suggestions help... (yes, yes, i'm doubtful too, but hey,i'm a guy...we don't ask for directions, we make them up as we go...)

I agree with the others, call your doctor immediately.  I "passed" one, it didn't fall out it came out with a lot of pain and such, but I've heard of them disappearing (i.e.falling out unnoticed).

The danger, other than a possible pregnancy, is a pelvic infection from an irritated cervix.

And as for the other freaky thought maybe running through your head, your cervix has nothing to do with the size of your vagina, so if any one says something ugly, tell them to kiss off.

Most importantly -after you call the Dr. - be careful...  My M-I-L had an IUD after her second child...

My wife is the third child!     She never realized it was gone until she realized she was pregnant!

I was laughing at Cowboy's response so hard that I probably would have lost an IUD had I had one!! I had one for years and it literally got stuck and spent hours in the Dr. office trying to get it out!! I can't imagine one dropping out, unless it was not in properly.....Man, I don't blame you for being scared, but keep your legs crossed and call the Dr. Yes, keep us posted as nosey boards want to know!! Sorry but it is true!!  Thank God for the men and their side of this!! Always keep us laughing huh? lol Sherry
