My next goal

This next goal will not relate to a number on the scale. I went shopping yesterday and I did something that I remember doing once when I was in my 20s, when I was on a quest to lose some weight (and I was successful at that particular time). So, I bought another pair of jeans...yeah, am I getting too gutzy here?? However, these jeans don't fit! They are too small, and I bought them that way on purpose.....my goal is to fit in those jeans! I know it will probably take another 20 lbs to get in them, but, let me tell you from experience, when something you buy too small finally fits, it is the greatest feeling in the world! Seeing those jeans in my closet day after day, is definitely a focus.....I feel I do need that kind of inspiration now that the weight loss will be slowing down and it is easier to get discouraged. If you all have a chance to do this, try it out, it's a great way to keep focused and rewarded once the clothes fit, and keep your fingers crossed that I fit into those babies in the near future!! Hugs to all...

Anna

What a great idea! I have no doubt you will be in those jeans before you know it. since my closet is empty I was thinking of going to my favorite thrift store later today. I am definitely going to look for clothing of all different sizes.

What is a great idea!  I did that with a top.  I bought it because I absolutely loved it and deliberately bought it too small.  I did to dig that baby out and see if if fits yet!  I'm thinking I'm close!

I know those jeans will fit long before the first leaf falls off the first tree this fall because you da woman!  You are doing so well!

anna, you will be wearing those in no time!!  What a great idea.  I think that is a great motivator and reward for losing weight.

I've been doing this.  And, you're right, it is a great motivator !!  But I have a big one I'm working on.  When I was married,  my step-daughters gave me a belt.  At the time I wore a size 9 -- and my ex, underscore ex, still called me fat.   Well, the belt is TINY!!!   I look at it and think WHAT WAS HE TALKING ABOUT!!!  Well, at one point that belt fit around my right leg.  If I can ever get that thing back on it will be a miracle !  And I wore it on the tightest place !!  At this point, I'll wear it to a meeting and stand up and yell -- even if it's on the loosest setting !!!!   So, there you go.  That's my carrot at the end of the stick.  Thank God we can eat carrots !!!
