Insurance Woes....Possibly not so bad

Hey guys!  I took Janet's (forgive me if I'm wrong about the name...I met soooo many people last night that I can't remember the names) advice and called my insurance company....just so I could get some answers myself.  I love everyone at WW, however they haven't been forthcoming with much information for me, other than what they want me to know.  So, this is why I have been so upset for the past couple of days....I was told on Tuesday....and only because I asked specifically about possibly having surgery while I was off for Christmas break....that the first visit I had with Dr. Walton wouldn't count toward the medical supervised weightloss....I was informed it counted only when I saw the nutritionist...and that wasn't until July 25...so six months would have been January before they would even submit to the insurance.  I talked to Cory at my insurance co. this morning, and she told me that my visit with Dr. Walton would count toward the six months, if we discussed weightloss.  Well duh!  What do you think we discussed, the weather!  LOL  So potentially I have three visits under my belt already....that only leaves three, and possibly if I can get someone to work with me, they will submit it in November...I could still have surgery during Christmas break...if I push the insurance.

I'm one of those ones Dr. Keller was talking about last night who has always done what everyone wanted, don't rock the boat, don't be aggressive until I'm so mad I can't help but blow up.....I'm not going to be that person anymore..and if these people that have walked all over me for the past 40 years don't like it....they can kiss my yeehaw!  LOL  No one is responsible for them taking advantage of a good situation (for them)but me, and I'm "done" being the person who allows it!

Whew, I really may have to see Dr. Keller over this one!  LOL  He's a hoot by the way!  Maybe it's a good thing I had my psych. eval already...he might tell me there's something REALLY wrong with me.

I don't know if this all makes sense to you all, but I feel better just for having taken it upon myself to take MY issues into hand.

I'm off to my mother's house for the weekend.  She's turning 80 on Monday and we're having a big blow out party tomorrow night.

You all have a good weekend and I'll check back Sunday night!

Hugs,
A more relieved Marsha, Marsha, Marsha

YEEEE-HAAAWWWW!  You go girl!  You are nobody's door mat.  Insurance companies are trained to say no time and time again.  Make sure they know who you are.  Make them dread your phone calls!  The squeaky wheel really does get the grease in this case.  I'm so proud of you for calling!  (yes, it was Janet who gave you that advice!)

Wouldn't that be great if you time came in December?  We could sing Christmas carols around your IV pole!

Have a great weekend and enjoy the company - and not the
cake!  LOL!

I'll bring battery-powered Christmas lights to decorate with !!!  Like the crazy one before me said, become a pain in the aaaaaa   side.  They'll approve you, just to get you off their backs!!  And venting is just what this site is for.  That and some positive words from those who have walked in your shoes !!!  Keep the chin up and go for it !

YEEEHAWWWW.  You will also learn that there is one that tries to give you advice at WW who sometimes thinks she knows what is best.  ALWAYS run it by Dr. W. ALWAYS.  What he thinks can be totally different that her.  It WAS in my case.  You go girlfriend.

This is the ride of my life.....what an amazing tool I now have!!!

You are so right! That is what happened to me also.
Glad you called and got some clarification. I am sure you will enjoy your time with your mother so much more now.

Here's my dream.....my birthday is Dec. 22....that's my first day out of school for Christmas break....wouldn't it be just awesome if my surgery was on my birthday!!!  What better birthday/Christmas present could I ask for!  My life back!!  I'm hoping this works out....I don't ever get to see Dr. Walton anymore until time for the pre-op....I love Kathy, she's just awesome, so maybe I should ask her about some of this stuff.

I don't like being treated like I'm stupid, and there are a couple there who kind of make me feel that way.

Thank you all for your encouragement....It's going to happen...and if it's later rather than sooner....I can handle that...I just am being impatient.  LOL  Which by the way is abnormal for me....I'm a special ed teacher...no such thing as impatience.  LOL

Hugs,
Marsha

That would be AWESOME!  I know what you mean and I know one of who you are talking about.  You can call and insist that you talk to Dr. W and I'm sure they will work you in......  If you don't push and shove for you then who will do it!!!  You CAN do it!!!!  That's exactly how I feel...like I have my life back.  You will too!

I'm sorry anyone has made you feel stupid.  That should be unacceptable.  I would be sure and let "someone who can deal with it" know.  Dr. W, if no one else.  Any question you have at this point that is of concern to you should be treated with nothing but respect.  They can't do anything about it if you don't say something.

Marsha, you inspire me!  I have always been reluctant to stand up for myself so I know what progress this is for you.  You go girl!
