Yee-Haw!!!
I am 52 and my DH 55. We have 6 grandchildren, who, by the way, are our reward for not having killed our 4 children. ;) Isn't it nice that we can make awesome changes, even at our age and beyond.

Mary you are too funny!!! I only have one kid but I am begining to see what you mean about not killing them! LOL!!! Thanks for the compliment, you made my day!! I'm so excited to see those in the 50+ getting the surgery. They say 50 is the new 30 you know....Hey that makes me 20!!!! Woo-hoo!!!

I distinctly remember, as a young mother of 4, standing in the middle of the living room and yelling, "This is why mother animals eat their young!" (I've since offered to pay for the therapy that, no doubt, my grown children will need someday) ;)

Mary,
I wish you had introduced yourself! WE ARE YOU!! We have ALL let our weight keep us from doing something we wanted to do. But not in that room! In that room, we are all the same and have the same struggles. It it such an emotional journey!
Please post here and you'll get good support, info and, hopefully, a few chuckles!

I have a couple of swimsuits, if anyone is needing one. I think they're 24 and 28. Most everything I have left now is sizes up to 28 are sweaters and winter-type clothes. As it gets into that season I'll post again for those who want to come and get. We are a crazy group. We're always happy to include newbies. Even if you can't make all the support groups, once a month is good. And the monthly dinner is an even more relaxed forum for us all. We look forward to watching your journey !
Amy,
You are so right - that group last night was lots of fun. And Randy is right - that jacket did look great on you!
I really enjoyed both Dr. Keller's topic and the group discussion last night. Kim is right - all of us in that room are on the same journey (all on our own path) so it makes for an intimate group no matter how many of us are crammed into that meat locker of a room.
Keep on keepin' on.... What time is your appointment next week? I want to be sure I'm listening for the screams of surprise when you get on that scale!
John
PS - I thought the YEE-HAW thing was mostly aimed at the single folks... too bad we were missing Rita - I know she would have enjoyed that discussion.
