Hey, you Oklahoma City Peeps!!!

My whole family and I are getting a much needed mini vacation and we are coming to Oklahoma City August 11-13.  We are staying at the Days Inn near Frontier City.  If you know an attraction that we must see, let me know.  We have not decided all the things we will do yet.  We may take the water taxi at Bricktown, go to Frontier City, visit the Cowboy Hall of Fame, and the Science museum.  Any thoughts on these would be helpful.

Also for you Tulsa Peeps, I will be unable to attend the Gorospe Meeting on August 11th.  I am a little disappointed about that since it is game night.  However a short vacation is just too good to pass up, and I will miss seeing everyone.

Thanks, Dionne

I will miss you at the meeting, but I think they are having game night on the 9th.  I will have to check my schedule.

The Murrah bombing museum is incredible!  (sorry to call it that - that's terrible - but I can't remember the real name)  It is so well done and a must see in OKC.

You have to do down to Bricktown and do the water taxi and have dinner.  That is a lot of fun too.

Game night?  What are we missing out on here in OKC?

The Omniplex and the zoo are definite doers, if you have kids.  Zoo in the am, since it's hot, and the Omniplex in the afternoon, since it's nice and cool inside !!  I also agree the bombing memorial is amazing.  It's a piece of history right here in Oklahoma.  I haven't been to the Hall of Fame in a while, so can't help you there.  If you have a softball fanatic, we also have the softball hall of fame.  There's also a firefighters museum right there, too.  Duh !  Frontier City is a blast, so is White Water -- but I'm sure you have something like that in Tulsa.  Hope you have a great weekend -- You also might check out the Redhawks and see if they're in town.  You could tie that in to your time at Bricktown.  They also have a really neat bowling alley at Bricktown now.

I heard on the radio today that you can rent bikes to ride around the Oklahoma River and you can also rent kiyacks and canoes to paddle around the river.  I think that would be a blast.  Don't know what the cost is....but I just love what they are doing downtown OKC!!!!  I'm thinking of trying out the canoes or kiyacks some day!!!

Thanks to all of you that gave me ideas for our trip to OKC.  I am sure we will have a great time no matter what we decide to do.  Is any of your group getting together next Monday or Tuesday?  I would love to be able to meet you!!   Dionne

If you go to lower Bricktown, you can go on a 3 hour river cruise.  I think tickets are $10.00 or less.  They are fun.  donna

Wow!  I didn't know they were that cheap  (ok....inexpensive)  LOL!!!  I'm on vacation for the next 4 days so I think DH & I will have to check that out!

Can't wait to see everyone at support group tonight.  I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm REALLY looking forward to the topic tonight.....I'm changing & feeling a bit out of control...Hope Dr. Keller has some good pointers!

Oops!!!  Sorry Dionne, didn't mean to crash your post.

Hope you and yours have a wonderful time in OKC....I do know that the Redhawks are out of town though, but the stadium is still something to see.

Have fun!
