Can't get caught up!

I miss everyone!!! I haven't been around much because I simply can't get caught up with what's happening around us.

In the past 2 & 1/2 weeks one of our friends 6 yr. old daughter was a near-drowning  (thankfully was successfully resuscitated and has no permanent effects and is home happy and healthy now), another of our close friends died unexpectedly at the age of 31 and we've been helping the family, we've helped 2 friends pack up their belongings and loaded U-Hauls and said goodbyes, another friend lost her father-in-law on Sunday (not unexpected but still hard), and for good news ... another of our friends husband will be having a much anticipated liver transplant this afternoon/evening at Baptist hospital. Hubby and I are passing ourselves coming and going with trying to be helpful to our friends and their families.

We'll be up at Baptist quite a bit in the upcoming days since we're on the list to help support Michael after his transplant while in the hospital. (Baptist has a requirement that once the transplant recipient gets to a regular floor, someone  (friend or family) has to be with the patient 24 hrs. a day until discharged home). Since his wife can't possibly be up there 24 hrs. a day for an extended period of time, they require a list of volunteers to be available for rotation. Evidently, a list of volunteers is necessary for each patient or the patient won't be transplanted. How sad is that?

So, as soon as things normalize around our household again, I'll be happy to be back visiting with everyone daily! I miss each of you! I hope everyone is doing GREAT! Congratulations to all the new post-ops and best wishes and prayers to all the upcoming surgeries and those trying to make decisions.

I truly miss each of you!

Shelly

P. S. All of these things have happened to our Thurs/Sun knitting group members. There's only about 12 or 14 of us that are regulars. Please keep the family's directly impacted in your thoughts and prayers.

P.S.S. I'm still planning on doing daily exercise/DVD Sansone postings...as soon as things slow down a bit. Everyone, keep up the great exercise DVD routine until we get organized and back to our normal routine! : )

Blessings and Best Wishes! Shelly

I'm a 52.5 yr. old female with chronic illness ... exercising and riding a bike daily! : )

Girl, you are burning that candle at both ends.  Take care of yourself too.  Don't let nutrition/water slide.  I find if I hang on to those two things, I can pick back up wih rest when life settles down.

I was w0onderign where you had been.  I had hoped you were on vacation!

Wow!  How do folks without a built-in support system ever get a transplant?  What if you were new to the area?  This familoy is so lucky to have you two!

Take care of yourself.
