Anyone have any thoughts on this?
Maybe somebody will come along and post because I would like to hear the answer too. Did you post on the VSG forum?

Hmmmm, sounds like a bit of reflux. I have noticed I am more reactive to things like MSG and other additives when I eat out. I have a fondness for dumps and dives and I've really had to be a bit more careful since surgery.
I usually don't eat salad in the evenings-it's another thing that seems to upset the status quo so to speak.
Nancy,
About four weeks after my surgery, I decided to try some broccoli off a buffet because it looked SOOO good. I was away from home at a training class...it was a good thing I had a hotel room to myself, because the broccoli absolutely did NOT agree with me. I had sweats, diarrhea, shakes, and horrible gas. I barely slept that night in between trips to the bathroom.
Sorry, I know - TMI - but it was a thought. It could have been the broccoli. It took me about 6 more weeks to try broccoli again, and it was a lot easier by then.
Hope you feel better.
John
HOWEVER I could be wrong.... and it might just be the slimie****ting your stomach and mixing with the stomach acid.... but then again....it could still be the demons...
possessed or not, you're still my friend and I love ya.

Sorry you were icky! My thought is that you had broccoli too early. That is some tough fibrous stuff to digest. Baby tummy probably rejected it after it gave up trying to digest it. Also, you probably had some GERD going on. I had to go to two Protonix a day to control the acid. Yes, it was prescribed by Walton- didnt do it on my own! It is getting better finally.
I would stay away from the tough veggies for a while longer to finish healing baby tummy.
