I'm not sure after the surgery what is required but I do know that the diabetic nutritionist tells me a full fledged diabetic that I should not worry about the sugars...only look at the carbs. I am to have aprox. 35 carbs per meal and about 15 for snacks per day. I know on Atkins they say only 35 carbs per day(thats what my sister says). I just go by the diabetic plan.
I have just been looking up Biotin and the Calcium on Puritans Pride site. They do have lots of discount items and right now the shipping is cheap. They have a variety of the calcium including a Fizz type...I guess like an alka seltzer. I am researching this too so I will look forward to answers on this also. They also sell the bioxin in different forms too.
Again, glad you are back!! Sherry
Carbs & Sugar - I avoid carbs in general and never eat anything white! I think the RNY'ers will tell you nothing with more than 9 grams per serving but someone smarter than me will chime in here.
Biotin - I'm taking 5,000mcg per day and I got it at either CVS or Walgreens and it is a capsule. I have no idea if it's helping but I had to do something preventative! I haven't lost any hair that I can tell yet but I'm only 9 1/2 weeks out.
Calcium - I tried the WW kind and hated them. I tried the liquid kind for Akins and wanted to spew. So I'm a lawbreaker and am using the Citracal petites pills. I have had no problems swallowing these bad boys but realize it's against WW rules to take pills this early. I figured it was worth it to me. But don't follow my bad habits!
Vitamins - I take the Centrum chewables and I got them at CVS when they were on sale. They aren't too bad tasting. Not something I would take recreationally but they don't make me hurl too bad. I was taking Flintstone's complete but Walton frowned at me so I went back to Centrum.
Hope I helped but, then, I'm not a model patient so you may not want to follow all of my advice.
Congrats on losing 5 more pounds. You are rockin' that banana!
Glad you are back - I missed you!

Hope it helps.

I will try to answer your questions.
1) carbs and sugar- I think I remember reading that we needed to find bars and shakes with less than 5 grams of sugar each. I always avoid as many carbs as possible. And, rarely ever do I have any refined carbs (bad girl- had birthday cake- small piece.)
2) Biotin- I have bought at Walgreens and CVS. I go where there is a sale. The bottle of 60 5000mcg ones are about $10.
3) Calcium- I also do the Citracal petites. I simply cannot do the ones from WW. Calcium doesn't do any good if it sits in the bottle.
4) Vitamins- You should be able to find the chewable Centrum most any place that sells vitamins- Wal Mart, Target, CVS, Walgreens.
Congrats on the loss while on vacation! Glad you are back.
Denise
Hey there girlie...glad you're back. Arent the black hills beautiful???? We went to Sturgis last year (in the fall). Thought it was wonderful! Here goes my non-expert answers:
Carbs & sugar....need that info myself (I hate myself for craving them so much!)
Biotin - Glittergal & Happy cat have those answers
Calcium - I do the citracal petites at least 3 per day
Vitamins I've always done Centrum Chewables (can hardly wait till I get 6 mos. out so I can actually take a "swallow" vitamin instead of a chewable). For what it's worth, they're not AS BAD as the WW ones.
WELCOME HOME!!! Now it's back to the grind :o)
I'll try to answer too so I can really confuse you.
Carbs & Sugar - how much is too much for an item and daily?
Sugar: Too much is anything over 6-8 grams at once. Carbs? Only the good ones, and I'll admit I don't know how much.
Biotin - Liquid or pills and where did you get em?
It's in my liquid vitamins and pills from Wal-Mart.
Calcium - Any options besides WW and liquid chalk?
Powdered Upcal-D from viitalady.com
Vitamins - Centrum chewables? where do I get em?
Wal-Mart if you can stand them. I do liquid GBG vitamins.
