I am so upset this morning!

I have been so careful of what I eat since I was at WW last week.  I have to go back Tuesday and I wanted at leat 10 lbs off.  Well when I weighed yesterday I was down 11 lbs.  I was stoked.  I didn't overeat yesterday, I really have no appetite since I've been taking pain meds since I had surgery.  This morning I'm up 10 lbs.!  Could it be swelling from the surgery?  I drank plenty of water yesterday, five 16 oz. bottles, and ate nothing I shouldn't have.  I do know I didn't get up to go to the bathroom during the night.  Help!  I'm really bummed this morning.
At this rate, I'll never get the weight off that Dr. W. wants me to lose, even if it is six months before I can have RNY.

Hugs,
Marsha

There is absolutely NO way you gained 10 pounds of fat overnight!  Take heart - this is temporary!  I would say that you should drink lots and lots of fluids today to try to flush out your system.  It's got to be water weight.

I agree, it has got to be water weight and after effects of surgery. None of us would ever sleep if it were possible to gain 10 lbs of fat over night!

Kim is right - there is not way you can gain 10 lbs overnight!! It could definitely be a combination of swelling and water - it has happened to me that I would lose say five lbs and the next morning have those same five lbs back...I say don't weigh for at least 5 to 6 days...those "fake" lbs will be gone!

Marsha, Take a deep breath. It's all going to be okay. First of all, don't weigh daily because it just fluctuates too much. I weigh weekly only. I promise you that this is all going to work out. Just keep on keepin on. (((((HUGS))))) Rita

Maybe your scale is off too..You know what helped me? Don't weigh yourself until they weigh you at your doctors..Just focus on healing..Take it easy..How many days have we stressed over weight loss/weight gain? Its only going to get better..So stay away from those scales if you can!

You drank all tha****er and you didnt get up to pee? your so lucky..I get up to pee at least 8 times a night..Makes it really hard to sleep!

I had knee surgery the month before my sleeve surgery and I gained a bunch of water weight after the knee surgery.  It came off fast.  So don't get upset and sabatoge yourself.  Just hang in there.  It reall is temporary.  Keep drinking the water and try not to weight for a few more days and then it will be gone.

Let's do the math.  Did you eat 35,000 calories in the middle of the night???  Of course not!  Even if you did it would have taken a couple of days to show up on the scale. It is water weight.  It will go away.  Give yourself a break from the scale for a few days.  I know that is easier said than done.  I am a psycho with the scale myself.  I literally covered the scale with a plastic bag when I was refraining from the daily weight in.

I have maintained for one year at this point.  I am steady at -120 pounds.  =)

Hello everyone!  I haven't been back on the scales, and thankfully I haven't sabotaged myself either today!  That's a milestone for me lately.  I have eaten only at meals, and only good stuff for me.  I have drank, drank, drank, even had a sf snowcone earlier.  I love that you all turned me on to those.  I can have those and not feel guilty!  I am not going to weigh again until Tuesday when I go to WW.  We'll see if I'm surprised, or disappointed!

Thanks for all of your encouragment!

Hugs,
Marsha
