Is skipping breakfast bad?

I have never really liked breakfast.  I will sometimes eat scrambled eggs but certainly can't do it every day.  And this week, I'm just not interested.  But I worry this is falling back in to one of my old bad habits.  Seems like they're always telling you that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, yada, yada, yada!

What are you thoughts?

I'm wondering this same thing.  They've told us to eat only when we're hungry and I'm not really ever hungry until about lunchtime.  Heck, I'm hardly hungry ever and I have to make myself eat sometimes.  I know that's not good either.  I'm confused......Cindy

Maybe I'll post this over on the VSG board and see what those peeps think!

Glitter....this is one of my biggest downfalls as well - due to prior habits and a grouchy stomach, I really don't eat my first meal until about 11:00 a.m. - I was told by Jessica that I should eat something by 9:00 a.m.; however, this goes against, in my opinion, the concept that we should only eat when hungry! So, this will be one subject that I will bring up on my six month appt (this month) - I usually follow what my stomach tells me to do and eat when I have the desire to (11:00 am), which does not necessarily mean hunger, but when I can tell that my stomach is empty. - I say eat when you feel like eating! But, you should bring this up when you go to the nut class or at your next appt - just to clear it. I thought there was a contrast between what I was originally told and the breakfast time issue... - Anna

They tell us to not eat if we aren't hungry. I would say that pretty much sums it up IMAO.

I took pilotphils (on the VSG board) suggestion on what he does.  He drinks protien hot chocolaate for breakfast.  I know Jessica doesn't like that but it is the only way I can get in the protien in the morning because I don't have time to eat some days.  It has 15 grams and is by Nashua Nutrition or something like that.  It has more protien then the one in the WW store and doesn't clump up bad.

I really do make an effort to eat breakfast, even if it's just a protien shake....but I begrudge swallowing calories I really don't even want.  I usually have enough flexibility in my schedule that I can make time for a small breakfast, but I feel like a naughty child sitting down eating something I don't want most of the time.

I have made myself start drinking my coffee black-and that has helped a little.  Without the milk in my latte, I can usually squeeze down some oatmeal, but honestly, is that really any better?

What my favorite thing to do is is to have a nice latte in the morning, and then eat an early lunch or brunch around 10:30 or 11.  Is that such a bad thing?
