Ok, I know loose skin is going to happen, just wondered if anyone had suggestions to help prevent so much of it.  Also I'm a little freaked out about my larger left scar.  It looks as if there is a ball under the skin and just below it is a hollow spot as if a hunk was removed.  I tell myself this is normal swelling and it will go away, the incision looks good and no infection just a nasty bruise that is now turning green and yellow, my sons find it fascinating.  Just need reassurance that this is normal.

Since HappyCat is my sister, I have 2 experienes to draw on.  This did not happen to me but Denise had major bruising and it was technicolor!  She also has a major size knot under the skin that she had Walton look at.  He said it was normal and that it would go away.  I thin it is on her left side.  (is it a HIPAA violation to spill my guts about my sister?  Hope she doesn't sue!!!  LOL!)

As far as the skin goes, I think we are just stuck with whatever happens.  I've been told that none of the potions, lotions or witchcraft make any bit of dfference!  But I still have hope I'll find something!

I have knots under my scars - they are slowly going away, but some are still there, Dr. B. said it is normal! For the skin.......a miracle!!

I think you can help offset some of the saggies with regular exfoliation and moisturizing which is good for you anyway, but I'm just going to accept what happens and deal with it when it does if it bothers me too much.  For awhile I was lasered on on losing X by such and such time and then have a tummy tuck and then VIOLA-my life would be perfect.  That doesn't even make sense, because I go weeks without even thinking about my tummy-I have no idea what made me drill in on that one aspect.

I had a freaky bruise (turned purple even) and ball on one of my scars.  A couple of weeks later the purple hematoma (have no idea how to spell that!) burst and bled out but then it was all fine.  I never even went to the doctor it just happened so fast and then the bruising was gone and it all looked good.

Saggy skin will require divine intervention or a really good plastic surgeon- in my opinion!

I STILL have a knot under my left incision.  I am 10 weeks out today.  Dr. Walton was not concerned a bit when he felt it at my 6 weeks check up.  I bruised quite spectacularly!  I was every shade a bruise could be for weeks.

Well, I did not have a laproscopic surgery at all... I had a full blown, open RNY done and, yes indeed, I had loose skin.  I know that it probably could have been a lot worse (and I've seen worse, believe me), but once I got that huge hernia when I was pregnant with Krysten, I opted for the Tummy Tuck.

Ok, so the saggy skin problem.... none of those things are going to take it away.  I lost 200 lbs. on Weigh****chers and I did every home remedy I'd ever heard or read about.  Drink at least 120 oz. water a day, exercise regularly, skin firming lotion....ahh ahhh it didn't work!  I have a wonderful plastic surgeon in Dallas at Baylor University Medical Center *****moved 13 lbs. of hanging skin from my abdomen in March, 2007.  Stupid me started gaining after that, but now I don't have that skin hanging to my knees.  It was quite attrocious.

Hugs,

Nothing you do can prevent it. It's genetics, your age and your personal elasticity. I wear mine as a badge of honor. Eventually, I do want plastics. I'm just really afraid of it.
