Support group in Northeast OKlahoma?

Hello, I am searching for a support group meeting in Northeast Oklahoma.  If I don't find one closer to home I will have to travel to OKC.  I need to attend one soon as it is required as part of my pre op education.  Any information is appreciated!!  Thanks, CJ

It is my understanding that there is a monthly support group that meets once a month at the hospital in Ponca City, Oklahoma. I have a friend who has gone, but I've never attended. You could call the hospital for more information. I think there's only one hospital in Ponca. Good luck.

Thanks for the reply.  I am really hoping for a meeting in Tulsa or northeast of Tulsa, I live about one hour from Tulsa so it would really be helpful.  Thanks again, CJ

How "Northeast" are you?  There is one in Fayetteville, Arkansas if your that far Northeast.  Not sure of the date in August, but it's like the 3rd week of the month.  Seem like there would be one around the Tulsa area, but don't know.  Good luck. Michael

If you go to the OWLO website (Oklahoma Weight Loss Options) there is a link to the different support groups that they have.  I believe they have a Ponca City group formed there that would be available to you.  Good Luck!!

OOOPS update - http://www.owlo.com/supportgroups.html  they don't show a Ponca group now - but you may check these out to see if there are any closer.  I apologize - I normally don't suggest anything other than WeightWise, but we don't have the outlying groups built up yet, but Ponca is going to be one of our destinations....  Not sure what might be available in Wichita either.  KMcCrary is up there but I don't know what is already active, but also another destination for WW. 

We have one in Owasso at Bailey Medical on the second Monday of each month.  If you are attending to satisfy another doctor's requirement, please bring a letter or note from that doctor so that Dr Gorospe or Dr Kirk can sign it.  They do not have the forms their for you at the meeting. 

Also they just started a Joplin Mo group last month.  I can try to get more info on that one if anyone is interested.

Thanks, Joplin would work too, it just has to be led by a certified support group leader (or something to that effect).  I might try to attend the Owasso meeting, I'm sure my doctor can fax me a letter.  I appreciate the information!
