I can't believe I...
gave away all my old clothes! Yes - I gave away all my big too big shirts and pants to my brother last night. It was a little sad, but at the same time a little cathartic to see them leave the house. Now I have no option for going back to that size ever again!
I had been looking at the pile of pants for a weeks thinking I needed to do something about them, but just couldn't bring myself to do it. He needed something for an event this weekend, so when he showed up, I just started pulling stuff out left and right.
I feel lighter already just for having them gone!
Everyone have a great day and keep on working at staying hydrated - it's gonna be a scorcher!
John
PS - to Ruth and Thomas - YES - I did give him tha blue blazer that I was wearing when I came to the hospital... even though I've never seen him wear such a thing in all his 35 years!

John - I know what you mean about the clothes - a little sad to see them go, at the same time, exhuberant about not needing to wear that size anymore...I was clinging on to my bigger clothes for the longest time before finally putting them away (they are still in my garage). Now I am going through the second round of getting rid of stuff, it seems to be easier this time around.
YOU LUCKY DOG!! I WENT THRU MY CLOSET AND DECIDED IT WAS TIME TO RETIRE MY WORK PANTS BECAUSE THEY ARE ABOUT TO FALL OFF ME. SO I WENT FROM SIZE 30 TO A SIZE 24 THAT ARE LOOSE ON ME STILL!! WOO HOO!! I THINK THE 24'S ARE THE SMALLEST SIZE I HAVE SO WHEN THEY START TO FALL OFF ME I GUESS IT'S TIME TO HIT THE GOODWILL STORE. I DON'T WANT TO SPEND A LOT ON CLOTHES WHILE I AM STILL LOSING. YOU ARE DOING GREAT! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!
I understand completely! I am going through stuff right now and am gleefully getting rid of stuff. But I'm scared too. Those "fat" clothes were my safety net. They were dependable, reliable and always there when I got out of control and gained weight back. It is a hard divorce! I have a hard time believing that I won't ever need them again since that has ALWAUS been the pattern.
But I think it is very emotionally healthy to let go! So congrats!
