To celebrate shark week, and to prepare for my cage dive (one day) and next trip to Florida (where I actually know someone who scuba's and I could practice with)....I have signed up for lessons this weekend.  I won't test this weekend, I want to have extra practice time in the pool, but we worked all that out and I'm happy as a can be.  I'm quick at the book stuff, but physical stuff I'm slow and intimidated on, so as long as I can practice until I'm comfy, I'm a happy girl.

swimming with sharks sounds exciting and terrifying... you will do fine with the physical part.. stay possitive!

Well, for now the plans include a shark cage and a hookah-I wanted to get certified just to get familiar with breathing under water.  For me, a shark dive will be a once in a life time thing (most likely) and I don't want to hyperventilate and pass out because I've never been under water or worn a wet suit.   I'm looking forward to having the weight belt and more stability than when snorkeling......when something comes along and you are snorkeling the only thing I can ever think of doing is just pull my hands up to my side so they don't get munched.  That means you bob along in the water like a piece of poo until the fish goes on about it's business.

I never thought of snorkeling as bobbing around like a blob of poo but you are exactly right!  That is so hysterical!

I'm so happy and inspired to see you having so many dreams and goals and going for them.  You are an amazing gal!

Thanks for the update and let me know how it's going!

Kim, you are so sweet.  I've been having a midlife crisis since I turned 17-there is just so much to see and do, and the world has changed so that we can see and do it!  We (and I) struggle keeping up with some of those changes, but some parts of them are really fantastic, and I want to take the good parts along with the bad.

I'm 47, so I can still remember when "girls weren't supposed to do that...." and all sorts of nonsense.  It is a good time to be alive!
