I have a band-I eat the guts of an eggroll all the time.
Try to remove "right/wrong" thinking....you wanted an eggroll, you ate 1/2. Prior to surgery, I could eat four or four eggrolls and some rice as a meal. Now I eat the guts out of 1/2 of one and that is all the "space" I'm going to alot for cabbage(I do love cabbage) but the rest of the space is all shrimp baby! (Or scallops)
My parents love to eat at the chinese buffet, and I do get some weird looks when I go there due to my debreading of everything, but I ignore them. Even debreaded, I can't eat half or even a quarter of what most people put on their first plate....so they can kiss my bootay if they don't like it.

I just had a spiritual food experience-I ate toast.
Bread is the bane of bandsters, and I just never gave it a try. However, the sticky property of bread CAN be used for good-IF the toast stays down (and it will) it will take forever to move through the pouch.
One of my goals for this weekend and before my next Dr. Visit is to revisit some foods on my don't eat list.....because many of them are helpful to weight loss and a lot of what I've been calling "solid" food is not. So, as soon as it was allowed, I tackled the biggest and baddest of them all-bread.
So, what I learned is I CAN eat bread .....if I take very small bites and chew slowly.....hmmmmmm, isn't that what I'm supposed to do anyway? Bread just requires the bites be even smaller-different size bites for different foods. Wow.
I have a Master's degree with a 3.96 overall gpa-and at 47 years old, I have learned to eat toast....and even more importantly, I've learned to eat one small piece of toast (with a little help from my band.
My February Flu, constant puking and resultant unfill really did a number on my head as far as eating, and I think it's pretty common with many WLS types who have sticking problems. We just get afraid of solid food. But the liquid stuff goes right through and will not give you satiaty or however you spell that....LOL.
I've had other good experiences, but this is the one of most value to the board!
