Weight Wise Hospital Stay

As long as RNY goes uncomplicated, typically, how long is the hospital stay?

If I have surgery on a Wednesday, will I get out on Friday?  Or will it likely be Saturday?

Typically a RnY is a 2.5 day stay so yes, unless you have a complication you should be discharged on Friday. 

I didn't have my RNY at Weight Wise, but I wanted to pop in and say good luck as your date gets ever closer!

I know you won't have any complications.  I am getting so excited for you.  You will love the accomodations, it was wonderful.  My husband was in his hospital at the same time and squeezed into a tiny room with a roommate and I had this suite that was very nice and comfy.  I almost felt guilty - almost!!

I've seen the rooms...  When I visited Thomas.  They are really nice!  The next 3 weeks is going to fly by!  It is hard to believe that I'm just over 2 weeks away from surgery!  I've been waiting a LONG time to be able to say that!

Dot, I was an overnight stay. My surgery went  well ( took 45 minutes) and I was a walking fool. When they got me up the first time and made 1 lap I insisted on going more and made 3. After they came and got me into the shower,  I started walking and walking, etc. I watched Marie Antoinette on free pay per view, but the rest of the time I was walking. I set the Oxygen sat monitor off so much that they let me take it off. They brought me broth and water for lunch, and I was afraid of it. LOL I didn't know how much to consume. I was hungry as a bear on the way into surgery and came out not hungry at all. I had to wait on DH to get back from Enid. He left early that morning to take DD home. I called and told him I was ready to leave, and he had just left. I wound up waiting around until after 4 that day.
