The waiting game...

I received a call from UHC yesterday telling me that my case has been assigned to a caseworker.  And that I will know within the next 5 - 7 days whether I'm approved or not.  The waiting is so hard...I guess I just want to get otherside of surgery and start feeling better.  Most people at my job know and ask on a daily basis if I have heard anything.  Which of course always keeps it in the fore front of my mind.  But who am I kidding...like I think about anything else right now.

I am getting extremely nervous about surgery too.  My friend at work tells me about the PAIN after surgery.  I just keep telling myself...nothing can be as bad as living with obesity...NOTHING!

Well thank you all for listening, and I REALLY want to meet you guys someday.  I have my psych appt with Dr. Nicholas on July 29th.  Just another appt down the tubes.  Have a great week everyone!!

I am also playing the waiting game. I am 60 days into my 90 insurance required weight loss program through Hillcrest. This has been the longest 2 months ever. They cannot even submit anything to my insurance until I complete this program. AGH!!! I would have the surgery tomorrow if I could. The wait is agonizing but it will be so worthi it in the end.

Good Luck!

The waiting is the hardest part.  Once you have made up your mind to do this you want it all done yesterday.  Hang in there- it will happen!
I have maintained for one year at this point.  I am steady at -120 pounds.  =)

I was self-pay so that was kinda painful!  Ha!  But the waiting was still the hardest part.  I had to wait until I did everything they asked of me including losing 28 pounds.  I was like you.  Once I decided I wanted the surgery, I wanted it done yesterday.  Unfortunately, not much in life works like that!  And I was obsessed both before surgery and now too.

I had VSG and the pain was very manageable!  Don't let other people cloud your feelings about recovery.  We are all different and handle things as individuals.  It was so worth it and I'm not quite 2 months out now!  I love my new tummy!

Good luck to you and I promise that some day you'll be able to look back and smile!

It's the hardest part, as Tom Petty says. We all go through this. Just keep strong and doing what you're doing. It'll soon be here and will so be worth it all!

Hang in there--I am having surgery tomorrow but I thought for a while it would never happen.  Dr. G is my doctor, too, and they nearly ran me to death driving to Tulsa or Owasso for all of my appointments.  (I live about 1 1/2 hours away).  You will like Dr. Nicholas--she is easy to talk to, but you have to have 2 appts. with her to get it all done.  Wishing you luck!
