I am always counseling my patients (and my kids) about the need to wear a medical alert. I figured it would be harder to do so if I did not wear one myself -- not just because of surgery but also my hemophilia status. I ordered one and it came today. I love it! The company I ordered it from does bracelets that could easily pass as regular jewelry and looks like an ID bracelet with a beaded bracelet. I got the petite version with birthstone beads. You can also just order the bracelet part and change out the look. It was also very reasonable. www.creativemedicalid.com

This has been on my to-do list for a couple of months.  I really need to take care of it!  And that is the website I found that had the best looking stuff!  Yay for new jewelry!

I keep saying that I need to order one-anyone who goes biking, horseback riding, or hiking really should have something with basic info just in case.  Come to think about it, your purse could be burnt in a car crash, etc...

On my id I have:

Gastric RNY
Date
No blind NG tubes
No NSAIDS
My medical allergies and bee sting allergy
Dr. Walton's number
Dr. Walton's name

I just now noticed that they got the date wrong. It says Dec. 2007 instead of October.

Those are beautiful. I just found out that it's going to cost me $19,95 and sending my id back to get it corrected.

I ordered mine before surgery since I live alone and almost always drive alone.  I got the stainless steel charm and attached it to a pretty stainless steel bracelet with CZs for the bling factor.  I can't imagine not wearing it.

Very nice and they are reasonably priced.  I know the information I got from my drug store on getting a bracelet or necklace was going to run me almost 100.00.  I can see that a lot of people may have problems affording that.

I need to order one, too. I'm so glad you got your ID. I'll check out the link to the place where you ordered yours.
Blessings and Best Wishes! Shelly

Thanks for the information.  I have been going to do that for a while now as well.  I just need to know from a RNY patient what information needs to be on the ID.

This is the ride of my life.....what an amazing tool I now have!!!
