OK I HAVE LOST 23 POUNDS SINCE SURGERY ON JUNE 23. I AM AT THE END OF MY 4TH WEEK. IS THIS A GOOD AMOUNT TO HAVE LOST BY NOW OR AM I DOING SOMETHING WRONG? I GOTTA TELL YOU I SURE THOUGHT I WOULD LOSE MORE WITH THE LITTLE BIT THAT I AM EATING. DON'T GET ME WRONG I AM HAPPY TO HAVE LOST THAT MUCH BUT I GUESS MY EXPECTATIONS WERE A LITTLE HIGH.

I think you are doing wondefully!!  You have lost a 2 year old kid in just 4 weeks!!  Go pick up a 25 pound bag of dog food or cat litter at the store and see how long you can carry it around.  You won't last very long.

To put this in perspective- you were sleeved 4 weeks AFTER me and have already surpassed my weight loss.  Now, don't you feel better?

I think you are doing great!  When did you lose that much weight in that length of time in your former life before surgery?  That's one way to look at it!  I still wonder why I haven't met goal yet with as little as I eat in comparision to my former life!!  But our bodies are notorious for fighting us the entire way because they think we are trying to kill them!  lol  We all have our moments when we feel like we aren't losing as much as so and so or what we expected...or we hit a dreaded stall.  We all have to work through the emotions.  If you know you are doing something that is not part of the plan your doctor gave you then try to change that.  You will get there! This is why we get so mad when people say we took the easy way out.  It isn't easy but it is do-able.  Hang in there and focus on your many victories and not the screw ups!  (That's what I have to tell myself everyday!!!!)

Another way to look at it is that the slower you go, the better the skin elasticity! At least that's what I tell myself.  I think that's great!

Denise, hang in there..

Look at how much you have lost overall !!!!  I remember when I would have killed to lose that much !!!   P. S. Don't get discouraged when you hit a stall in a month or two, that, too, shall pass!  Lynette

I would venture a guess you didn't put it on in a month, so, no, it won't just fall off -- although those around you will think it is !!!  Just keep doing what you know you're supposed to and it will work !

I'm working to change my mindset from "when I get to goal" to "what can I do right now"....with the belief that that will make goal weight happen sooner.  But it's hard to change old ways of thinking.  I think you are doing just great.

We all want the weight gone yesterday!  I am working on the patience part!  It is definitely not my strong suit.  I cannot do any more to lose the weight than I am doing right now.  Well, I guess that is not true- I could go to the gym twice a day.  Not gonna happen.  Who cares if you are thin but have no life!  I am willing to be a bit "fluffier" and see my friends and family at least as often as the gym personnel.
