Wow So Awful it's Funny

I lost another pet -a scaley one.  One of my baby snakes managed to drown itself in the water bowl.  I did a necopsy to verify that (gross, yes, but necessary, a virus could be devastating to my collection)...and yes, the little fellow crawled in the water bowl and drowned.  He was perfectly healthy other than the fact that he was dead.  Ironically, he was a "fire"....guess he didn't know water and fire don't mix.   I'm torn between being really sad and thinking if he was that stupid.....ya know?

I am sorry about your snake baby!  That is about as stupid for the snake to do as the hamster my son had that ingested enough plastic from chewing on his habitat to kill himself.  Well, actually we had to take him to the vet to be put down.  The things we do for our pets.  Again, sorry for your baby.  What a week you have had.

Not to diminish the little fellow's demise (he was a gorgeous baby and I had big plans for him)....but some deaths are just so stupid they seem almost meant to be.  I, like many people, tend to forget that animals have so many babies because the survival rate is 100 percent.  I've just never lost one that was thriving so well-but accidents do happen.

I'm so sorry. You'd think if he went in the water bowl for a swim, he would have kept his nose out of the water? Again, I'm sorry. That's just hard. I hate to ask, but was it your new yellow one?
Blessings and Best Wishes! Shelly

Wow, that was a dumb snake !!  So, will he get a burial at "sea" or in the garden?

Wow, Deb, I'm so sorry. I didn't know snakes were that stupid. I don't even want to know what's involved in a necopsy, so I'll just say ((Hugs)) to you. Hopefully next week will be better.

Oh, no, it wasn't Glo.....(not that I have favorites).  We do burial at trash can for anything that isn't germy.  In ground interment doesn't work well in my backyard-too many diggers at my house.  (Dogs/cats are disposed of via cremation-it's illegal to bury dogs in the city limits).  No disrespect intended towards the critters-my entire family is big on cremate and scatter.
