NSV- I mowed my own lawn!

I mowed my own lawn today for the first time in 3 or 4 years!!!  I was pain free and had no asthma symptoms!!!!  My yard guy messed around too long so I fired up the mower on my own!!  I am so excited!  Sick as it sounds I enjoyed it.

I am off to buy a mower that I like my Dad insisted I needed this behemoth.)  The one that I have weighs as much a Buick and is hard to maneuver.  I can't wait for the grass to grow so I can use a new mower to my own choosing!

Yeah, I can take the yard guy off my payroll!!!!!!!!

That's awesome.  I love working in my yard.  I mow 2 1/2 acres but on a riding mower.  I actually fit much better on it this year without my gut getting in the way of the steering wheel!  We bought our daughter one that has self propelled with a bagger for her to mow her own yard with.  It pretty much pulls itself and you walk behind it.  You go girlfriend!!

 Unless your yard guy is an absolute stud, this is nothing but a GREAT THING!!!  Congratulations.  And if he is an absolute stud, I'm sure you can find some other chore for him.  LOL  Good for you!!!!

I just got home with my new mower!  I can't wait for the grass to grow!  I bought a totally girly electric mower.  I don't want to mess with gas, oil, spark plugs, and etc.  And, the best part, is that I can lift it myself and take for service as necessary.  The beast my Dad insisted I needed weighs over 100 pounds without oil or gas!  I can't physically take care of taking it in for service. I can put 'ol Hoss out to pasture!  Grow grass, grow!

I have mower envy-I've always wanted an electic mower!

I actually miss mowing grass...with a push mower, weed eater, and a brushhog on the back of a tracotr all 3.  We had a LOT of land to mow when I was growing up.  My dad thought i was mental for liking to weed eat so much but see what he didn't realize is it was another good excuse to get away from him and his b*tching....lol.

Anytime you need a weedeater "fix" come on down!!  I am weedeater retarded!  I can never keep the line from breaking.  And, I can't ever get the new line to automatically come out with the advertised tap!  Obviously I need a lesson.  I may have to pay your gas to get you to come teach me weedeater 101!

Maybe when I'm thin and gorgous my DH will let me mow. Bought him a really nice mower 2 years ago and can't ever get on. He runs around the back yard about 20 mph doing donuts. Used to always do all the yard work. Weedeating is hard on my back but maybe after surgery and losing some weight that will help. Always stayed tan that way. Enjoy, Cindy

LOL my dad owned a $150 some dollar industrial one that we could attach saw blades and limb trimmers to it.  We needed those though with all the fencelines we had to clear out (God I remember the numbers of bumblebee nests I stirred up out in the pastures...and the stings I got too).  Those industrial ones are like an old stubborn mule sometimes, hard as hell to get started but once they do they can go for days.  And they don't need to be tapped cause they auto feed. 

Also about riding mowers, I had one of those ones with the dual handles that could turn on a dime and actually peal out in the lawn (it had a 15 HP motor for crying out loud).  Damn I miss that mower, lol.  What I REALLY miss is the rotary disc mower (a swather).  That thing could mow a 40 acre pasture in a couple of hours.  And riding in that air conditioned tractor listening to the radio was so much fun.

I never even been on a riding mower. I am sure it must be fun. I am hoping with practice that my weedeating skills improve!
