Kim (GlitterGal) is on a cruise with her husband's family celebrating the in-laws 50th wedding anniversary.  All 3 sons and their families will be there. She will be back in town on Saturday some time.

I was a voracious omnivore to everything I came across...if it didn't eat me first, it was in deeeeep trouble.  Funny, but I would binge on "healthy" food...fruit, whole wheat pretzels, air popped popcorn, lean meat, veggies...OKOKOK, so eating your weight in cheese wasn't a good thing in hindsight, but, well, ya know.  I was never a big fast food eater, and thank goodness am not now really either.

Yes, it is much more quiet without Glitter around!!!! What kind an eater? I was a volume eater, carb-happy, and a grazer. Not much into sweets or fast foods. The hardest thing to kick is the grazing....I had a terrible time with it at first, but it slowly got better and better. So, for those pre-op, there is hope!!! LOL!!!

If buffetts had frequent flyer miles I would have been able to fly us all to Cowboy's condos in the VI for free.  Also chips and salsa were my comfort food.  I could chill a bottle of Pace, then that night sit and eat a whole bag of the Tostitos rounds smothered in salsa.  Plus I would drink up to 2 bottles (2 liters) of Dr Pepper or Pepsi a day.  I still have days I crave the chips and I still use Pace on everything, but I don't miss the pop not one bit.

What kind of eater were you (or are if pre-op and haven't been reformed)?  Were you a grazer, volume eater, binger, sweets eater? carbs of any kind?  Were you into fast foods?

Ok, I think I was all of the above when I was a pre-op... I was definitely an emotional eater.  I was also very much a fast food eater and very into the Chinese buffet.  I'm definitely reformed since the RNY, for sure.  I was scary into food... I know it was my best friend back then.

I could live on Chips and Salsa.

In fact, I tried too.. and look where it got me.

I am not an emotional eater, nor a grazer.

I just ate to much of the wrong foods.

I haven't had the surgery yet, I am just on

the pre-op phase. But I wanted to answer

the question anyway.

I was all of the above...I was very much an emotional eater for anything from happy, sad, depressed and we also used it as our social outlet.  It's amazing how I don't miss much of any of the fast foods or sweets.  I LOVE strawberries and hate to think about not getting them this winter.  I had quit soda about a year ago because the carbonation made the inside of my mouth and tonge very sore and would break out....oh well, if it will clean off battery acid it can't possibly be good for the human body anyway????  I still want to graze especially if I don't get all my fluid in.  It's not because of hunger...just jitters I think so I chew lots of gum....NEVER SWALLOW THE GUM!!! (ha)

This is the ride of my life.....what an amazing tool I now have!!!

Add all of the above to me.  EMOTIONAL EATER was probly the worse, and when I was eating to mask emotions I become a volume eater.  When I was upset, I could fix a box of Brownies and eat the whole thing.  I never considered myself as a grazer, since I didnt eat lunch, but that is exactly what I was.  I would just snack on anything that I could get my hands on morning-night.  Never really craved sweets until they told me that I was a diabetic, and they told me that i couldnt have it anymore.

I was a grazer who sometimes binged. I'm a carbaholic, and we did a LOT of fast foods, especially the nights I was too worn out from school to even think about cooking. Pizza every Friday night (Pizza Hut severely misses us!) after the football games and every Friday night period. Sweets not so much, but definitely Cherry Coke and Cranberry Sprite from Sonic.

Usually 2 helpings of whatever we were eating...and ice cream at night around 9 or so while watching movies with DH.

I'm a good cook, and our waistlines showed it. In the first 3 months of our marriage, I put 30 pounds on Johnny..he needed it then..he was rail thin!
