BLOATED
This is a pretty common problem among us. Mirilax is something that Dr. Walton recomends and is not something that you get "hooked" on as far as laxatives go. I find that the better I am about the fluids the better I go. When I'm home and on my routine at 4 months out I'm pretty regular!! It's because we aren't getting the fiber like we once did. You can get Mirilax at Walmart I know but most places should have it too. It's in a powder form and can be added to your drink.
I add Benefiber to my morning coffee. I can't tell it is there since I add other stuff to it such as sweetener. My Mom said she could tell it was in her black coffee but who knows. I also take Sennokot S. I have been taking this on the advise of my pharmacist since I started iron several years ago. As long as I keep my fluids up, do the Benefiber, and take Sennokot S (I get the CVS sotore brand- it's cheapest) I am fine. You will never have BM's like before surgery we just don't eat enough and get enough fiber. Since you are uh, full, so to speak start with the Miralax. You need action!
I have had ongoing issues since my cancer three years ago. I have Miralax on hand for whenever I need it. My docs said I could take it twice a day if I wanted to and it works very well without giving you cramps. I would start with one dose first and stay close to home in case it affects you differently. My step-mom has a terrible time with constipation and she took a hefty dose of it (1 1/2 doses) and needless to say, she wasn't constipated anymore.

I have to take a LOT of Miralax to get results. When I feel locked up, my good buddy Fleet works every time. There are suppositiories instead of enemas if you'd rather use those. Miralax does work, and stool softeners every morning do, too. Also, mixing ground flax seed into my Magic Bullet concoctions keeps me regular without adding anything else, usually.
Currently, I've had the opposite problem.

I know you got all the answers you need but I want you to know I sympathize. Being clogged is terrible and you weigh more when you're clogged. You gotta keep things moving! And poop is a common topic on our board. It's very important!
I've been on vacay so I'm reading the old posts. That's why my reply is late. Hope you've gotten relief by now!
